I don’t disagree that dh’s can be added, but there must be storyline for this for sure
Also, demon forces can’t operate without sargeras, not on the scale of the legion for sure, the whole schtick of legion is that its an army of demons ordered by titan, without titan to order them they are bound to descent into chaos and anarchy because its their nature, they are for sure can be dangerous but not galactic-wide threat, more like annoying raids for mortal souls.
Demon hunters were created out of utter necessity, legion was the biggest threat Azeroth ever faced.
Next bif threat is void for sure
I’m not totally sure in this one
The Legion in a sense is not gone
We killed the Boss and the upper management, but the army of demons, slaves, constructs, the warlords, all the Nathrezim, Annihilan, Shivarra, Aranasi and all surviving Eredar lords (or anyone who can gather a team) are out there with Legion tech, weapons, army, just without a leader
But just look whats happened in the Horde after Vol’jin died or in the Alliance after Valrian’s death
Nothing, really… it wasn’t the end of the Horde, nor the Alliance
The great Dragon that once the Legion was became a Hydra
The Legion destroyed/conquered a good portion of the Great Dark Beyond, now that area is logically divided between the strongest demons and everything they had under their controll - and probably in war with each other with good old demon fashion
They only lost Argus as a means to hasten the natural reforming in the Twisting Nether proves of rebirth of a Demon
Legion Remnants possible the most dangerous thing the Great Dark Beond now have to face, because Sargeras was order and deep in his insanity done all the horrible things he done for the Greater Good, to save the Universe from the Void, even if it means destroying all life in it
(Side note: it may be not that leaderless actually, if we belive what we head in Shadowland - I know I know - but Mal’Ganis said that the Legion was a pawn used by them for their true master: Sire Denathrius. And he is at the moment “missing”)
And this is actually not just my headcanon or forced explanation, in game we already saw two “faction” emerging one led by Lord Hel’nurath and one Lord Banehollow
On Argus when we “recruit” the Man’ari who try to be “good”, during the fight against the man’ari cultists, we could find invasion plans, although incomplete, these plans mentioned a new Legion invasion of an unknown distant world.
So they are operating and on a world invading grand scale, tho’ not united
But while the Demons are chaotic and sometimes not even “belived” the Titan’s cause and needed indoctrination to be “poper demons” (see the archeology find Orb of Inner Chaos “Chaos does not come easily to all demons - some struggle with the ways of the Burning Legion. Those that did will often carried an enchanted orb that invoked the rage required of any good demon. It is not known how the orbs were made, or who made them.” ) they spend several millenium under Sargeras’ comand and even the stupidest demon probably learned a few trick or two how to be efficient as an ordered army - sure the demonic intrigue and infighting will be there but still, employing tactics that worked for an eon or two? Demons are smart and celver, underestimating them “oh they are chaotic horde and needed Sargeras” is very shortsighted in my humble opinion, because while it is true, it is a bit past tense. They indeed needed him and the Eredar orders, but then thousands of years passed forced in to an efficient army… would be foolish to belive they not piced up a few things
Sargeras in the past already had some competiton like Ulthalesh and in a sense Sataiel…
The united Legion is gone, but it became worse… those Legion controlled territories and worlds not been freed, nor liberated or cleansed from Demonic influence, the Demon strongholds, armies, local leaders, techologoies, dimension ships, troops… the whole enchilada is still out there, sure fractured and at each others throat, but still they are out there and in my eyes are a greater and more sinister threat than before
When Sargeras ran the show, we at least had the illusion of hope, defeat the Dark Titan and everything will be right! Chop off the head and the snake dies
But now for every head two more grows back…
The Demon Hunters and Warlocks - okay, the Warlocks, the Demon Hunters are useless ticking time bombs - who are familiar with the enemy are needed more than ever and probably the reason we don’t see the Slayer and the Slayer’s Army because they are busy keeping these threats at bay and organizing raids from the Fel Hammer - but eventually there will be no tattooed, blind bodies to throw against the Legion Remnants and they have to seek out new recruits…
How exactly legion and horde compare?
Again, demons are chaotic creatures from twisting nether, their nature is being unruly, it’s what they were before sargeras enslaved them.
Banehollow was defeated by 1, ONE warlock, if it doesn’t confirms that demons without sargeras are inept to do anything on the level of legion without sargeras and entire eredar command chain i dunno.
Some worlds were conquered by demons even before sargeras enslaved them, but we are talking about azeroth
You need to respect your superiors and obey orders, it isn’t tricks its literally subordination, imagine demons doing it without wanting to throw off their commander.
While your rp circle might have those restrictions, others do not. The game also haven’t made any effort to provide story reasons for why there are restrictions.
To be fair, that reads very Warhammer-like…
Illidan had pretty much no contact with the Illidari ever since the Black Temple was taken down. The DHs had about 10 years by this point of being self-governed (or led by the more prominent names).
Why wouldn’t they recruit more willing people during that time? A lot of folks lost something in the last Legion invasion and may be looking for a place to become stronger.
Sargeras might be beaten and sealed (for now), but there are still demons around and even if it isn’t demons, nothing forbids DHs that have fulfilled their primary life goal to find a new one.
Out of the top of my head: “Zorvaal was responsible for the entire Burning Crusade through the Nazrezim, but the true culprits are the First Ones. I shall not rest until they have paid for the broken system they created!!”
It’s really just a matter of thinking about a decent reasoning for yourself. Blizzards job is to do the mechanical stuff for the game, that we cannot influence. Everything else I firmly take responsibility for.
The Death Knights basically went through the same thing. The Lich King is long dead, but they refocussed their efforts to protect the world and the living as the Ebon Blade. For this Bolvar created new Death Knights from all races.
Yes, he also had the premonitions of Sylvanas coming for the helmet (which doesn’t really gel, since he then told all the DKs, including the Horsemen to stay away instead of helping him against the Banshee), but was that really necessary?
No. As a player I am fully able and willing to think about the background of my characters myself. I do not need Blizzard to do that for me.
Well, i get that you want to play any class or race in the game but here’s something you need to take in mind also as a player.
- LORE
- FACTIONS
- CLASS DESIGN
- Unique feel
All of this creates WoW, if consumer influences from the outside and is allowed to change the game, also the game loses that unique feel. Not now but later you will notice it as a player too. Lord of the Rings might look totally different if others interfered Tolkien and his work?
Lore doesn’t need to be set in stone, it’s an ever-changing thing, and it should be fine to allow class/race combinations and come up with good lore reasons why this is possible. We’ve seen Paladin go to Horde and Shaman go to Alliance, and the story behind it could be expanded upon to make others possible.
See previous points. We do not have a single class anymore that’s unique to a faction.
That concept got erased from the game with the first expansion.
Not an argument whatsoever.
Everyone can be any class given enough dedication and training to master the skills for said class. There’s not a single argument why you could not start on the path of a class and learn said abilities and skills.
No such thing in today’s MMO world.
Everyone wants/has/needs everything.
As soon as something “unique” is introduced there’s going to be people who want it and throw arguments around about not having it.
Save everyone the headache and make it all available.
Don’t want something, don’t go for it.
This is not a race where one wins in a conversation. It’s a fact that investors are also behind a game supporting it or not. And all of it what i mentioned are idd important if you want succesful product.
The lore must survive to woke culture thought “every things for every one dispite of logic physic lore and sense”
During the years Illidan was in Outland, many elves sought him out because they had lost everything to the Burning Legion and wanted to devote themselves to its destruction.[5] Some blood elf demon hunters were instead sent to Illidan by Kael’thas Sunstrider.[6] On average, only one in five elves survive the demon hunter training. Most are overwhelmed and killed by the demonic energy or go insane and commit suicide.[7] At least one night elf demon hunter wasn’t trained by Illidan in Outland, Illysanna Ravencrest, who seems to have been a demon hunter since the War of the Ancients after following in Illidan’s footsteps.[8][9]
The training begins with the person slaying a demon, eating its heart, and drinking its blood. The spirit of the ingested demon bonds with them and from this bond the demon hunter receives visions of the Burning Legion destroying countless worlds across the universe.[12] In horror at the sight, they tear their own eyes out, which usually puts them into a coma.[13] The fel power infusing their bodies after ingesting the demon’s heart and blood causes the demon hunter to mutate, gaining demonic features such as scales, horns, or claws.[14] As with all chaos-touched creatures, the forms that these traits will take can be quite unpredictable.[15]
thats even not suitable for a simple human and you want to be a goblin demon hunter
what a joke.
“I love so much demonhunter”
a few moment later
“WHY BLIZZARD ANY NEWS FOR MY GOBLINKEK DEMONHUNTER?”
Yeah I don’t think that has to do with “woke”, it’s just people wanna play classes with the races they like most.
Nothing about this has anything to do with “wokeness” and your obsession with it. Find some right wing forum to complain about that and leave this topic already.
It is clear that you have a much bigger problem then my wish for the game, so tend to that and leave this gaming forum alone with it.
Investors do not care in the slightest about Lore, Classes or Races. They want money. People are not gonna leave the game because others are allowed to play as a different race, so money will keep flowing. Okay, maybe some will leave, but there are not enough hardcore RPers for it to matter.
Indeed, as I said above, there will be quite an influx of money because of faction/race changes bought by people to change to the race they want to play.
It’s going to be a win for the investors, if anything. Especially since the changes are extremely cheap.
I’ll just rebut this with the fact that Blizzard has already opened up new class/race combinations since vanilla or for a new race which has been introduced since. So it can and has happened, Blizzard just needs to do it again.
they were chilling in warden’s prison? They weren’t "governed’, after black temple’s fall they returned to illidan with sargerite key only to realise that illidan was defeated and were imprisoned by maiev, they got pokemon’ed too
everything has to do with woke if you stretch hard enough
Skips past the majority of comments that are arguing
In the latest interview, it is said to be mostly an animation issue and since we are getting Dracthyr with more classes, I think we may be waiting a while for any more. Maybe a .7 patch or something.
Evoker taurean would be interesting.
I don’t really like this idea, I love playing different races because I have to. This way the game is not stale to me.
Give worgen shaman
and spec “voodoo” dps for shaman. I could fun play with troll race
I meant afterwards. Counting from Legion start it has been about 10 years in which Illidan had no contact to the Illidari (cause he was first dead, then lead the entire war effort to Argus and until the present is sealed with the Titans), during this time the top ranking Ilidari took over and are still in command.
Wasn’t legion was going on roughly for 2 years, like the same amount of time as expac’s lifespan irl.
If you mean why they don’t create DHs after legion - why would they? Being DH is not cool, if someone wants to defend Azeroth from evil he can enlist in army or become aspirant in some paladin order, or become shaman/druid whatever is popular in your culture or seems best for you.
DH were created out of desperation, they really sacrificed everything
