If I die in battlegrounds will I lose it?
If you die to a noob, you should be ashamed and delete your character 
I should think so.
A death is a death.

Thats a Good question, tho i would not take the risk as it likely could lose it.
But if you go all in for it, best of luck and hope your survive and win the bgs!
Knowing BGs i bet if u show there with that mark on, the entire opposition will make it priority to kill you.
Even if it means losing the bg.
