Sounds and footsteps

So I just wanted to make a post and hope to get a response as to why the sound of footsteps has been lowered since WoD? Not sure since when but I realized today that the sound of footsteps have been practically muted as to actually be able to hear footsteps in retail and classic, you need to up the sound slider to the point where normal sounds like abilities etc just destroy your speakers.

Surely this isn’t intentional, I hope we get a fix as sound is a corner stone of WoW’s many peaks!

Never relied on footsteps to spot enemies in wow. Can’t remember a time when you could really. By the time footsteps are heard the swosh of a charge or a frostbolt have allready been cast.

No I simply mean your own footsteps, I have never relied on footsteps to spot enemies either lol
