Spanish server NOW

If a new spanish server is opened ill leave firemaw, better for all, the racist english and spanish people that want to stay together in a server.
And no, Blizzard rules said that we all can speak in the language we want, and no one should be insulted for it,Its not our problem you didn´t accept it, its yours.

As a Spaniard with no interest in playing in Spanish for several reasons, from prefering the original version to enjoying the company of other fellow Europeans, I however give my countrymen my full support.

To be fair I do believe Blizzard is in kind of a conundrum because there’s a lot of uncertainty about the long term server population depending on how successful Classic is, so opening niche realms this earlyis a risky move.

My advice is make noise but be patient. Advertise your Spanish communities/guilds, make yourself visible to other players and to Blizzard. If there are enough people I am sure there will be new realms and free migrations.

In the meantime players should be patient, respectful and tolerant to one another, regardless of what languages they speak.

Saludos desde el corazón de Europa!

Yeah sure. “Pls Blizz, we want to socialize with other people… But only in Spanish” and the rest of us are the racists…

What about all the Scandinavian, Belgian, Dutch, Portugese, Greek, Slavic, Baltic, etc players? Guess what, they actually make an effort to speak English, even though it’s not their first language either. Stop being such an entitled little brat and make an effort to communicate in another language than your own. As I said before, there are even more Polish speakers than Spanish and you don’t see them demanding things.

We do not pay € 13 per month to have to speak another language.

the size of the spanish community is not comparable to the greek, portuguese, or wathever you want. We can fill 1 server

Guess he just wants to interact in spanish, be it with a spaniard or a spanish talking non spaniard.
I don’t think he is claiming the right to interact with everyone in spanish.

So stop the high horse falacy arguments. No one in Spain is looking at you from above. In general terms we are humble, fable and like to be loved. We’ve accepted our place in the world long ago and are very happy with it.

There is just this thing, english teaching was not implemented in Spain as good as in other neighbour countries. So talking in English is not that suitable for us and in many occasions like this, it leads to missunderstandings.

Practically every other country in Europe does. You’re not special.

English level is not good in Spain. Man our President can’t even talk english.

Have you thought that maybe your demands were not understood.

On the other hand you claim to have not seen other languages in general chat. We’ve all seen danish, norge or others in gchat and no complaint. Link an item in spanish and complains everywhere

Actually I have not seen any others beside some Czech or Slovak asking: “cz sk?”
That was truly all in 9hrs of playtime, but maybe that was by chance.

Anyway, I hope you get your server… but be aware there are plenty of people not good at English who try, anyway, because this:

…is just nationalist BS.

What language rule? There is none.

And we don’t have to deal with you, think about it

Correct. You pay 13 euros to be granted a temporarily license to use Blizzard’s servers and services as they offer them to you.

First all there ain’t more polish speakers. Spanish is spoken by 12% of ppl in the EU given the last report from the European comission. English is spoken by 33%. This data is from 2006 kinda out of date but it is the official data we have. Go check out about polish.

Anyway this is not a thing about which language should be spoken. I do not care about which language anyone uses, I assume ppl want to be understood and not yelled. And this is what it’s all about.

The fact is that we don’t know english here in Spain, and there is no need to be blamed for that.

Efforts? We all make efforts to communicate, please understand that it is harder for us. Taco taco doesn’t help, neither does Blas de Lezo

My main is in Defias Brotherhood, a notoriously Polish-flavoured realm. There’s always unavoidably some very intolerant people who will clash every now and then, the occasional misunderstanding when someone doesn’t understand something and perhaps doesn’t even let you know, and so on. However in general people get along fine, and I’ve even learned a few simple expressions in Polish like thanks/you’re welcome/sorry (which often you’re in range to emote anyway).

Behaviour isn’t about nationality but about how people react to miscommunication and how likely to happen this miscommunication is. It should be obvious players from countries where fewer people speak the language are more likely to stand out. Put the Dutch in a Russian realm and you’ll get the same.

Of course English is a rather universal language nowadays but we can’t tell people how to feel when forcing them to use it to play a game they have been able to play in their native tongue for over a decade.

Is Spain in the EU :eu:? If so there’s your answer.

I support for them getting there own realm.
If u just read what they type here and how they behave, its becoming toxic for the rest of us. If they cant show a little bit of respect and hold a conversation like a grown up. Maybe its better if they get there own realm.
U could have just created a Spanish guild, or any of the other options but to keep pushing like this, we are getting tiered.
And no worries about the rest of us joining u on that server. The way u have been behaving over the past 2 days and the constant wining i see on forums makes us wanna stay WAY clear of u

Rest of us are having a good time and are enjoying them self. Thats the whole point of playing a game anyway

Edit: Miscommunication even happens if both parties speak english

By having a player demanding a language server or else you have 100% made it not going to happen.

And of those 12% nearly none of them commit to online activity in communities like WoW. Actually, going by numbers, the Dutch online presence in games like WoW is huge compared to the amount of people living in the Netherlands. I dare say they give the amount of Spanish players a run for their money.

…so what. The Dutch should get their own server too? Well if there’s enough people, why not… but the reason we don’t WANT to, is because we understand the concept of the second ‘M’ in mmo. That’s not just with my neighbor, but also with Gary from across the pond, Juan in Madrid, and Dmytro from Poland.

See it’s not the request per-se, I mean what beef would I have with the fact that all Spanish players just hop on to their own servers? Not a lot… it’s just the way this was formulated. “Demanding” a server; being “historically failed”… sounds to me like entitlement. And that will get you nowhere. With no one. Because people are fed up with the special-snowflake treatment. Just be a decent human being and there is probably room for discussion.

→ “we DEMAND a spanish server”
→ “we are being historically failed, as always”
and then you follow it up with “We accepted our place in the world long ago”.

…if you don’t see where the ‘high horse’ argument fits RIGHT in with those statements, then perhaps the one point that rings true is that you indeed have issues with English.
