Spanish server NOW

totaly agree. A multimillionaire company that is unable to do the things in the rigth way.

I don’t view it any differently than hearing someone talking in their native language on the street as I pass by them. It was one sentence. Not consistent chat spam disrupting everyone. What was disruptive were the incredibly racist remarks afterwards.

shogath u are trolling in all the forums. just stop it man.

Just because you don’t understand , doesn’t mean its trolling.

I agree, the racist marks are obviously disruptive but advertising a guild only for X nationality is also disruptive.

Its not really akin to a general chat on the street. Think of an EU server as a country. If there was a bar or establishment that only allowed X nationalities in, would you be happy with that?

But a guild is more like a private club than a public place. You need to be invited to a guild. You cannot just walk in like you would to a bar.

Sorry your analogy doesn’t work.

Also the guild was advertising to turkish speakers, not specifically turkish players. So they weren’t basing their recruitment on nationality.

I think a bar or establishment which only allows certain people in is the definition of a private club. Don’t get me wrong, private clubs are fine. I just don’t think they should be based solely of your nationality.

Edit - just seen your bit about language, not nationality. May be presumptive but realistically, only the people born in country X would apply.

Breaking news: A guy who has no notion of Quebec’s distinct culture, language and history goes on with his racist opening line to an actual local about “How his whatever obscure relatives think french Canadians have a stick up their butts” completely ignoring hundreds of years of history, internal politics, deportations, exploitation and Quebec / French canadians bashing in general, acts surprised to not get a polite reply back. Stay tuned.

If you don’t have a clue about how and why this game came to you then why should i have a clue about people who refuse to make an effort?

The true ‘racists’ here are the ones bubbling themselves up against the outside world where people actually make an effort to work and play together and bridge nations to do so.

You’re right, sir “I’m not the real racist”. I encourage you to start a character on German servers where I currently play (to learn more German) and learn some German as well, to finally bridge the nations! Why should it be english after all?

Why would i join you inside the bubble?

I’m outside where we all make an effort to understand eachother through the use of a common second language.

I suggest you look it up and get educated.

I’d explain it to you myself but i doubt you will accept any input from anyone other than yourself.

Maybe a 3rd party can still teach you something.

And so? It’s not their fault Turkey is the only country that has turkish as a primary language

Also does this mean you have a problem when guilds are only looking for raiders? Only dwarves? Only healers? Or is it a problem only when they’re looking for speakers of a specific language? Is it somehow wrong to want to be in a community where you can speak your native language?

What if the add a spanish server now, will the spanish people just leave their characters and start from level 1 on the new server?

And there we go, another two servers rolled out, still not a single spanish server. Well, except when every existing realm has spaniard memes on it.

So you don’t think that only wanting to play with people who speak your native language isn’t disruptive for everyone who doesn’t speak that language? Your original point was about intolerance, doesn’t that sound intolerant to you?

I don’t really want to get into a big argument over this, as I really don’t care either way. I’m just pointing out that intolerance breeds intolerance.

No I don’t. Why would it be? Why should I care if a bunch of spanish/turkish/whatever speakers want to play together? Why should one line text in a foreign language offend me? It is not offensive to say “looking for people who speak my language to join my guild” in any language.

I have better things to be doing than to be getting into a tizzy over a harmless line of text in a different language.

But who is saying they can’t play/talk together? I think the point most people are making is that anyone who can speak X and English and they’re playing with people who don’t speak X language, they use the common language ‘English’.

Let’s just leave it at this, this thread is long enough without us adding to it.

As spanish guy, I don’t care about spanish servers. I’m fine with english servers, if someone can’t speak english in 2019 is because he/she doesn’t want to. Also, there’s a lot of rat kids in the spanish community, did you see the Mundo channel? ( mundo = world) just no, thank you.

I just find it equally hilarious, sad and downright childish when people get so angry when they see one line of text in a different language doing something as harmless as advertising a guild.

The intolerance to even the smallest reminders that other languages exist outside of english isn’t something I missed about WoW.

It will be amazing to have unless a spanish server to join up all latino-spanish community together, but i am with you about it is probably not a good idea in terms of population, we also need to remenber that there are a lot of different lenguages in eu like Portuguese, italian, greek, polish, etc who are in the same situation than us, also be in a multicultural server is amazing, been english the tool to comunicate in between us seems a rational option.

And because of that posting an spanish guild in spanish in a /general chat is kind of like weird, because at the end of the day we are in a general chat and our intention is to invite people who want to be in a spanish guild but they are not spanish at all, english is not an imposition from blizzard is just the lenguage that we use in general chat to comunicate, just a tool.

I also would like to remenber that it is an europe server, not a british server, so english people need to be respectful with that and let people find their own groups, and if they speak in a lenguage that you dont understand, then just say you unfortunally cant understand and that is.

Both eu and uk citizen have to finnd thhe harmony in that.it is an EU server before a British server, english is the predominance tool of communication, that is.

Note: i am spanish.
