I saw a lot of people talking about how “speed running dungeons is a problem”. Specifically the low level ones. I seriously can’t see a problem. I had a friend buy the game recently and decided to help him level fast so I queued on my fully decked out druid to speed run him through leveling dungeons.
I am proud to say we were able to get him to level 62 in just a little over 4 and a half hours of running dungeons.
The typical run looked like this. We zone in, I run far ahead of the group, pulling everything in the way to the boss. I then proceed to macerate all the mobs with the boss. If bosses can be skipped, then I always skip them. Generally I don’t care what people do during the dungeon. If they pull something on the side, or decide to do a boss I skipped. My goal is to go from point A to point B in as little time as possible.
Yes, new players died. Yes, people left groups. Yes, they complained. But we just kept trucking on. And honestly, it was really fun. Just going fast. Seeing how many mobs I can get onto a boss. In stockades, I would pull all 3 bosses onto hogger. Dungeon finished in 3 min with all quests done!
But so yea, point being, we had fun and we accomplished our goal and if people didn’t like going fast and getting carried and free xp, well, I don’t know. Too bad, I guess

I know it’s a hell lot of fun for players who understand the tactic and how aggro works. But a lot of players don’t, end up dying, and then spending half the time running back to the party.
I don’t think the problem is players doing such speed-runs, but the fact that leveling dungeons are just way too easy. It doesn’t represent what the game is really like at max level in the slightest, and it doesn’t teach people how to play properly, regardless their role.
I’d prefer harder leveling dungeons, but with better rewards. XP per hour should ideally remain the same, and maybe a loot rework would also be nice, because a lot of drops from legacy dungeons are kinda bad.
Different people like different things, that’s always going to be the case.
My friend and I were tank/healer combo and so bored of levelling, we started to pull more and more onto the bosses. However I can understand not everyone appreciates that

Ehh, I apologize for…“trolling” apparently? Why are so many posts getting taken down? Why did mine get hidden? Did I say something really bad? I’m sorry if I did.
Could of course care about the whole group instead of only yourself. When players are dying around you, you maybe got a hint not everything is going well.

But the people don’t matter in the context of doing the dungeon fast. I’m solo killing everything by myself, they’re just along for the ride. I’m literally doing 90% of the dps on any given pull.
So when you really break it down, they queued for the dungeon to do said dungeon and get the xp and items from it. Which is exactly what I’m doing for them. I see no issue.
It is content for a group. So people matter.
It is freaking annoying playing with a tank like that.
People are dying around you. It is not only about 1 player being able to get to the end of the dungeon. Of course you are doing 90% of the dps. The other players are dead and trying to get to you.

It may be annoying, but I am the tank and I dictate the pace of the dungeon and the path we take and the pulls we make. You are free to leave if you don’t like it; as I already said, it makes no difference to me because other players don’t matter in that dungeon.
Shows how selfish you are.
As a healer i will never understand that mentality.

So happy I wasn’t in your group. Even if I was your friend I’d bloody hate it.

What we should have is an NPC at the start of every dungeon with a Dialogue option for “Let’s pretend I ran this dungeon, give me the xp now, thanks.”

Every person matters in the dungeon they pay to play same as you , its not all about you in an MMO.

It’s become a recent thing were posts that aren’t rule breaking are being flagged. I’ve had two restored by moderators recently.
So just ignore it. You are not trolling. It’s a genuine discussion. No one is that deterred by a buried post anyway

Yeah, well, speed running is great for XP and leveling alts; however, for newcomers like my girlfriend, it can be a negative experience. When you dive into a dungeon and some overzealous DPS or tank decides to overpull, slaughter everything, and skip mobs, it becomes a drag. It’s tough to learn a proper rotation, and there’s a chance of getting lost in the dungeon if you’re unfamiliar with it.
A bit more consideration for fellow players could make the game a better experience for both new and seasoned players.

When i read posts like this i just assume they’re trolling as i refuse to believe someone is this full of themselves and finds the need for this to be one of the first things ever posted, I suspect a alt character with a bait post.

In the absence of AI dungeons perhaps we should have options for new players or those wishing to learn a new spec or class.
Not sure how exactly it would work, a tick in the LFD tool that says “Inexperienced / learning”. Even less sure how to implement it so as to ensure it was a slow run to allow for learning.
Whilst I strongly disagree with the OP, I don’t get why it was flagged. I don’t see any broken rules, simply (in my view) a poor opinion.

Geez, and we wonder why there are never enough tanks and healers.
People with that attitude are one of the reasons i’d rather not do dungeons.

I can understand not agreeing with their attitude but they speed ran levelling, helping a friend. It’s impressive they levelled so far so fast.
I can totally understand why people leave runs like that, and I think that’s a valid part of the discussion. It’s a group activity and groups often don’t get along. Someone else posted today about how a tank was taking his time and the dps started pulling for him. People seem to want the whole go go go mentality the bulk of the time but the OP and friend took it to an extreme.

I am fine with things going fast. But i am also looking back at the others. It should be a good experience for everyone. It is really not a big effort to go 10 seconds per dungeon slower but stay together as group (and maybe you win time because actually all do damage on a boss, instead of having 2 players outside of the boss area).
To me this game is an MMO. We make the game great while playing together with others. Behind every char there is a real person. So i care.
