Thought I’d create a thread where people can discuss what we know of 8.1.5, including the very spoiler-y things.

This one’s especially interesting. More narrative choices for the player to make and Baine getting imprisoned.

Here’s some more story spoilers. I wont add every link so the post doesn’t get too bloated.

Big notes

  • Bwon asks for a ‘Warchief’s soul’ for Talanji to annul their bargain. Talanji rejects. Potentially could get another Warchief soul in the future to do so?
  • Baine and Zelling conspire (successfully) to steal Derek Proudmoore and return him to Jaina. As a player you can tell Sylvanas this if you so choose. Regardless, Sylv finds out and both Baine and Zelling are arrested.
  • Derek is back with Jaina. Implication that he’ll be hanging out with Calia (and maybe Alonsus). No indication if Sylv’s mind conditioning was successful or not (my gut says that it was though).
  • Weird propaganda indicating some people may be displeased with Anduin/Genn’s rule and instead favour Calia? Hopefully a leadership dispute that’s not morality based. Would be cool.

As much as Baine isn’t the best character, I really hope he doesn’t Die.

I should rephrase - weird in that it’s surprising to see Blizz do it since Anduin is a perfect little lion with magic bones.

Nah, I doubt they are planning to. My guess is that Zekhan sees what is going on, breaks Baine out for 8.2 and Baine catches up with Saurfang. Another rebellion is about to start but is interrupted by a certain tentacle monster under the sea.

Actually on second thought, Baine is probably the bait for the likes of Zekhan.

To set up Ashvane as the Alliance’s Saurfang. A villain seeking help from the other faction to fight a fascist regime. Except, Ashvane’s fighting an actual fascist regime.
