Tauren heritage armour is coming in 8.2, I doubt they’d kill him off since (If the BElf armour is anything to go by) the questline involves the racial leader quite heavily. And yeah, there’s… no other tauren characters around. Magtha is still largely hated and the only other named tauren I can think of are neutral.
That and Golden loves Baine, for the good or ill it brings he gets a rather heavy amount of focus in her books. Same way Anduin does. I can’t see her letting him get killed off.
My money is on Baine pulling a General Iroh, getting jacked in prison then breaking out to break faces when it’s finally the right time.
I mean understandable, even I don’t like Bwonsamdi. He’s a bit too Disney for me.
Theory - Tauren get their heritage armour by rescuing Baine. Baine + Saurfang launch the Horde Restoration Revolution. What a dream team.
Nice to see Sylvanas continues to show why she’s both completely incompetent and a saturday morning cartoon villain.
Though I can see Sylvanas putting her temporarily “in charge” of the Tauren while Baine is in prison. Would be nice to see the Sylvanas raid be composed of “bad” versions of the Horde racial leaders.
I thought this as well. But if the BElf quest is to be used as a comparison? The questline is more about the history of the people and understanding the race’s theme and motto. That and I can’t see them ‘time locking’ the questline with such an event, since it’d have to make sense if played in the future.
Maybe. But I’d rather not see Magatha killed off. She’s the only villain that is genuinely believable and one I particularly like. Her motives are realistic, her past plans and goals were sane (if lofty) and her methods sound and believable.
She doesn’t want to blow up the planet or destroy all living things, she just wants to sit on the throne in Thunderbluff and put her tribe at the top of the totem pole. She’s not some kind of dragon, old god or demon, just a cunning old crone that’s a particularly powerful Shaman. She doesn’t twirl her moustache in the open, she keeps her plans prepared in the shadows and only makes them known when they’ll probably succeed. She only failed in the Shattering because one of her own Grimtotem defected to Baine’s side.
I just pretend that she never showed up in Legion’s Shaman campaign, might as well given she didn’t do anything past her recruitment and it seems the order halls are being left to rot.
Not gonna lie, I had hoped that the finale of Pride of Kul Tiras would have Jaina teleporting to the flagship and going a little grimdark, wrecking face and at the least giving Ashvane the punch she so richly deserves.
Imho they wouldn’t put a Baine escape attempt behind a heritage armour gate since it’s kinda important to the main story. Wouldn’t make much sense for the casual player to watch Baine get arrested and then suddenly be back again with no info as to how, if they weren’t playing a tauren.
I hope Blizzard won’t pull a “Aha Sylvanas planned this all along, she in fact had already re-educated Derek Proudmoore and let Baine take him to expose his treachery… Two birds in one stone kind of a deal”
I can feel it coming… Which would ruin the sweet family moment he shared with Jaina who seems to hace (again) realized that it’s the Warchief’s fault that War is upon them and not the Horde as a whole…
Wow Sylvanas literally doing a Wannabe Garrosh except she does it for her own agenda instead of actually fighting for the Horde, shocking? Not really no.
Though all this story progression does suit the lore and specially her personality, glad to see that values set against eachother.
If only it was the Alliance attacking Lordaeron from Gilneans thus getting a new capital to replace Teldrassil and reinforce the idea that Eastern Kingdom is now mostly controlled by the Alliance.
In retaliation Sylvanas’s plan to attack Teldrassil and even burning it would have been sorta fine since the story is actually morally grey this way… Both faction had their reasons, no more rebellion brewing from the get go.
I’m sorry but even as the lore is getting better I can’t forget the awful taste in the mouth the first bite was.
I’ve not done it yet but from what I’ve read, the dwarf one sees you helping Brann out rather than the actual leaders. So I would say at this point it’s a bit too early to draw solid patterns.
That said I do think that’s probably how it’s going to be done from now on and that the dwarf one is likely an anomaly due to them having multiple racial leaders.
I do agree on the whole idea of it being unlikely that they’ll only allow tauren players, a small minority, to see an important event happening.
