The scarlet crusade are like bugs, whenever you squash one and you think they’re dead they just spring back up alive again.
I personally hope it’s a case similar to when the Lich King was datamined in Legion. Sure he was there, as ghost/vision presence to frost DKs. A ghost, flashback or the like.
I wouldn’t liken the Scarlet Crusade to insects, they’re more like an incredibly virulent strain of herpes.

Maybe Mograine was out back taking a whizz while the Alliance and Horde rampaged through the monastery the umpteenth time and came back to find Whitemane dead.

Blizzard should put a hard stop in trying to focus on specific characters and take the last road that’s left. They need to focus on epic worldbuilding, because honestly, that’s all they’re good for nowadays/arguably since ever. Their characters never had novel-esque depth, but there was something (ie Arthas, Jaina, Garrosh, Thrall up until Cataclysm).
They’ve long since lost their charm, though. It’s time to focus on the world and its many people, not ‘hero here is the place [Island 735B] which NO ONE EVER!!! outside of our secret service of the most powerful superheroes of BCU will be able to access, please collect 10 weapons to arm your table champions against the Death Gnoll King’.

Also a living version of whitemane has also shown up for some reason

Best ending to the Crusade is Whitemane rebelling from Ebon order and joins the Forsaken, resurrects all the fallen Scarlets to join the true Lordaeron peoples.
Sounds like a micro-event similar to the AQ gates.

It would open the door to forsaken pala.
But these scarlet/forsaken end up following the cult of shadow instead of the light.
I am going to go with npc place holders for now anyway
While I always hope that blizzard may do something good with the crusade, I believe the writers will make it negative again, its like…we need a group of humans to do something bad but no way can we allow the alliance to look bad!
And the crusade gets called in.
