[spoilers] 8.1.5 discussion thread

It doesn’t.

Kul Tirans and Zandalari should have been the release options. Storywise recruiting them fit perfectly for after the main campaigns.

Instead we got replaced by a “Oh yeah, you’re not OFFICIALLY part of the Alliance” silly goose chase busy work with the Dark Irons and a completely out of the blue traipse through time for the Mag’har.

Meanwhile there’s a bunch of NPC Zandas/KT in the Horde already but we can’t play 'em because they’re…not recruited yet?

I just had a thought.

Could Baine not save himself by pointing out that Vol’jin basically said it wasn’t actually the spirit’s will that Sylvanas becomes warchief? I mean he has another there to vouch for him.

Made my point for me. Mag’har are an obvious rushed project when they realised that the zandas were taking too long. Alliance get no equivalent as dork irons were announced prior.

Personally I’m glad that WoW hasn’t gone all GoT entirely and we still have some Big lore characters, and ones who are still consistent characters rather than doing a 180 around the point of Cata and now being the complete antithesis of how they started out for no good reason other than “Blizzard don’t have a lore bible and it shows”.

People complain about Jaina and Saurfang and pretty much every character under the sun, to the point I don’t see anyone saying anything about characters they LIKE in an objective way. If WoW were a game that had us as PCs on a comparative power level to the NPCs, like other games have in the past, it wouldn’t matter. But WoW is not that kind of game, and any time people suggest it being any different the same people complaining about the status quo seem to fall out of the woodwork to scream at those who dare suggest the core of the game change at all :stuck_out_tongue:

All I said was that Mag’har Vs Dark Iron made more sense than Zanda vs Dark Iron.

I didn’t say the Zandalari should’ve been pushed back, as I don’t wan’t 'em to be.

Zanda Vs Kul Tirans should’ve come first.

Another human model for another undead. I should probably post this on the pet peeve thread but Blizzard’s need to pretty up prominent undead characters annoy me.

Imagine if in TBC we had to grind to unlock draenei and BElves because “They’re not part of the Alliance/Horde proper yet”.

Which is hilarious given the entire starting zone for Draenei is about finding the Alliance and joining them.

And he has better facial hair than playable male humans.

That beard doesn’t look enough like a pinecone glued to his chin!

If we get better facial hair for male humans and proper hat-hair (and the coats while we’re at it) I can die happy.

Khadgar is sensible and charming. Too bad that he’s an absolute cad, breaking hearts of PC’s everywhere.

Another reason I just want WoW 2 tbh.

In XIV hair is built in ‘layers’, and every single hat in the game hides a specific number of layers to minimise clipping. If your character had a bun for example, the bun would be hidden but everything else would stay. If the ponytail you have wouldn’t clip, it stays, if it would, it goes. Fringes even shift to an alternate position (I counted three on my femroe between hats) to better suit hats and helmets.

Admittedly very few MMOs do hat+hair very well. TESO, Wildstar, SWTOR all struggle with it. I hate hoods in SWTOR as they make you bald and it’s VERY obvious.

Eh, there are characters I still like. I liked Rastakhan.

oh well nevermind

How about A different IP instead. Warcraft should have an end.

Malazan mmo, who wants to come rp being part of the tenescowri with me?

Not in this corporate environment. Making everything marketable, streamlied and stylised to sell collectibles and lootboxes to exploit people’s sense of vanity and tickle the reward bumps in the brain isn’t conducive to an enduring IP.

The Age of MMOs has ended.
Now is the age of MMO-Lites (Destiny, Anthem).

Now is the age of DLC MP mobile games.

I think we all saw the Diablo mobile game on the horizon with the “companion” apps for mobile phones.

Anthem is looking more like a Diablo game than an MMO Lite. Same difficulty system and all. And a bigger emphasis on tons of loot.

Pamphlets is one thing but not this, not again.

At this point the Scarlets are well on their way to Team Rocket levels of reoccurring villainy.
