I’m thinking I’m just gonna try and live in the moment with it and enjoy it, then deal with the consequences later. Not like they’re avoidable…
I might just focus on gameplay, depending on how it turns out once the expansion is live.
My guild is highly unlikely to go to the Shadowlands either way, so I just hope the ones around us don’t make too much IC noise about it.
Blizzard could easily fix it by making Shadowlands a dimension akin to Emerald Dreams?
Not really the afterlive but not really the mortal realm either?
Kinda like how the Emerald Dream has G’hanir, which is the afterlive for all flying creatures (including intelligent creatures like dragons, wyverns, gryphons and hippogryphs).
Too late now. Though I wouldn’t put it past them to make such a retcon after the Shadowlands.
Tbf, I rather they retcon it now than keep it as is and then afterwards retcon it.
It would make the Ardenweald/Emerald Dream connection abit more sensible too, imho.
From what I understand it’s still literally just the PC and undescribed “adventurers” that actually get free of the void, the portals are probably just there for gameplay purposes. Unless you see a human mage covered in blue making a SW portal in the hub, I’m willing to say it’s just gameplay trumping lore.
On the whole I’m cautiously optimistic about SLands. I’ve yet to see anything that makes me think “This is going to suck” ala Legion Legendaries or Azerite armour. Gear is gear again, leggos can be farmed towards and handpicked out, classes are being improved (Well except shadow priest). The lore is eeeeeh but at least it’s a WoD situation where it’s very far detached from anything, whereas BfA sucked us all in like a black hole.
G’Hanir is a huge question mark for me. Like, where are dragons going now?
There’s a quest which refers to G’Hanir in BFA, yet Ysera is in ardenweald. And what about those (like Malygos) who died while Aviana was dead? They shouldn’t be in G’Hanir right now…
Edit.
I just hope they remove it. Never liked the idea of G’Hanir (imagine deathwing in G’Hanir)
G’hanir is in the Emerald dream and if Ardenweald and the Dream are connected that would explain this little anomaly
But SL is inherently full of these little (or not that little) inconsistencies…
On a side note: if a Titan dies… where it will go?
We could potentially meet the Soul Sargeras cleaved in two or Argus…?
Absolutely true.
And you know what? I think I care so little for the lore right now that I don’t mind that. I prefer the lore to have a lot of issues like this -if- it gives me an expansion which is thematically pleasing.
…But remove G’Hanir because it‘s boring lore.
I like G’hanir’s lore.
I imagine evils like Deathwing have their own place, but Malygos wasn’t really evil… just misguided imho.
Also, do we know if he’s truly dead or still falling through the Nexus, huh?
Malygos was 100% right.

Player blue elf belfs added in latest build rather than just for NPCs. It’s easy to revert and could be a mistake, or they mighta changed their minds after the last thing Ion said. Who knows lol
Can’t wait to play my proper High Elf Argent Paladin!
I vomit violently
It’d feel weird for them to reverse course so quickly, so I’m guessing it’s probably a mistake? Though i dunno. I feel like blue eyed belves might become a thing eventually and they’re only delaying it…
I’m pretty sure Blizzard themselves, or some community manager somewhere (rly don’t remember which) stated that blue eyes for blood elves are not going to become a thing.
If it’s going to be the case then I guess we’ve been lied to for the umpteenth time. At this point I don’t really care anymore, I just want new and vibrant customizations so WoW’s customization will finally be up to par with a game from 2008.
Poor allied races though. Well, some of them anyway.
Don’t worry, Allied Races already had “more” and “better” customisation options than the normal races.
So they’re not getting any from the start.
I mean, they have three (3!) skin options in some cases!
