Im an alliance player on Shazzrah, so yes, Im getting ganked by 40 man horde raids all day long. Recently rerolled a class that can stealth, to be able to have a chance at seeing azeroth in color for a few mins each day instead of black and white. However, it seems that pretty much every other horde on my server is running some addon that can allow them to pinpoint a prowling druid, even with Feral Instinced maxed out. Are they really able to see stealthies or at what direction we are at? This is probably the straw that broke the camels back to be honest… To begin with the entire world is off limits to alliance players on Shazzrah… Even SW flightpoint is locked down by horde parties during primetime.
Blethers
Selfishness of player broke PvP servers on classic.
No, they aren’t. They can only tell there is a rogue or druid if they do something out of stealth within 50 yards. Not where they are or where they’re going. They might not even be there anymore.
When you got a minibus of horde hungry for that sweet sweet honor if they just know that a stealthie is nearby I garantee they are going to zug zug there way to him.
Hey they were a ton of ppl saying spy was perfectly fine, now that they were proven wrong let us enjoy it.
If you think that’s a problem that’s your own opinion, but I’m just refuting science fiction presented as fact. Complaining about an addon claiming it “broke classic” without having the slightest understanding of how it works is laughable, and posts like OP’s are spam at this point.
And last time I checked flares don’t have a 50 yard radius. I’ve never had any problem in WPvP playing in a PvP realm. If anything, horde might complain because of perception, but if as a rogue you get within 50 yards of an enemy out of stealth you deserve whatever happens to you.
No thats not what I meant, they arent randomly running around spamming aoe. Im talking about some fella riding past lets say 50+ yds away. They suddenly stop and start running straight at me dropping aoe right on top of my position. Happend multiple times and seems really fishy. Last time it happend I was sitting in prowl not doing anything at all so combat log wasnt giving away anything. Seems like a really wierd luck streak for horde to land 100% of their aoe right ontop of stealthers.
Now there are still horde randomly running around and spamming aoe, if they know im there. I can tell you straight up this is something different. Perhaps Im just having some really strange glitch or bad luck idk… Never seen anything like it though.
This is nonsensical.
The world is full of maps with plenty of obstacles to the visual field, where you only can spot an “enemy” a few yards away. The same happens with houses and all kind of buildings, where if a rogue/druid hears or firstly spots an adversary, can quickly stealth and ambush.
This addon works like an improved stealth detection, where potentially any activity performed by the stealther can warn addon users. Basically is a cheat, that for some reason, stays in the game.
And im not playing with druid/rogue, far from it.
At high level they can spam lower ranks of certain aoe spells forever since their mana regen faster than the cost, it’s common practice when the spy addon says a stealthy is around to jump around and drop aoe and if they are a lot of hordes in your area you’re gonna get caught eventually, even if it look like he ran straight to you.
You may not be as stealthy as you may think then, or you’re terribly unlucky.
There’s no possible cheat to detect people in stealth because it’s the server who decides whether your enemy’s client is allowed to see you or not.
Spy recently had a range nerf due to all the moronic idiots who claimed it was destroying classic. Which in turn broke a whole bunch of other stuff. So yea hilarious stupidity.
If your playing as a stealth class vs anyone of a much higher level, they can see you from much further away whilst in stealth.
Spy addon would only alert you if someone used an ability within range.
If you were already in stealth there was literally no way to see you / target you and you still got the opener.
Like I said before anyone defending Spy Addon is a pathetic cheater.
Can I not use this addon and still think it “breaking Classic” is a ridiculous claim?
No, no! You either think the addon and everyone using it should be perma-banned or you’re a pathetic cheater! There’ll be none of that “objective reasoning” crap here, thank you!
I play a druid on ali and I get this too, sometimes I go stealth all the way from TP in Searing Gorge to BRM and after 1min in stealth a nearby group of horde pass near me and randomly stop VERY close to me and start aoe’ing or runnign around in circles looking for something. Yet I haven’t done anything out of stealth or anything in ages. And they were on the other side of Searing Gorge when I entered stealth. This happens way to often.
(Also I’m on Zadalar Tribe so it’s an ali dominated server, but sometimes I stealth from TP to BRM because some rogues usually kill me when I’m mounted going past).
1: What level were you and what level were they.
2: How close were you.
3: Did they have a hunter with them.
Because this sounds like someone glimpsed you and alerted their group or had some form of stealth detection.
Either way Spy didn’t do that because it can’t do that (it only gives an alert if it picks up stealth activation on the combat log or if you detect it yourself through proximity, even without Spy this is very easy to do since you get an audio prompt when you detect a stealth target).
Remember that stealth is not perfect invisibility and if you get too close to someone or their stealth detection is high enough they will see you.
I understand why so many people jump over in defense of this “addon”, (it is convenient/“legal cheat” for the majority of classes), but to argue that stealth is not perfect invisibility to defend a warning cheat like this…
It is cheating, you are farming without looking after your back, a stealth comes and jump in you. With this addon you know that a enemy is around, just by him/her using any passive sh*t, while off your field of view.
Lies. No rule is broken therefore not a cheat.
