Ive been maining resto druid for years doing m+. This is actually first time I’ve changed class for my main. I did it because I feel like the hots are not moving hp bars the way it should. The amount of work I have to do to basically have hp just stand still is quite annoying. Switched to farseer rshaman, and although i feel the group healing is lacking, and I find the single heal focus annoying, it can move hp bars so much better than resto druid. At least this is my experience. What have you found on your resto druid?
Resorting to spamming regrowth because hots feel useless seems to be the general consensus of resto druid. Also the reason I don’t have any interest in playing it.
Now try spamming it in pvp with the amount of cc going around.
No fun detected.
Druid healing as hots is a challenge itself. Even when healing is balanced. Right now druids feel gutted all the way, and I regret choosing mine as my main…
The “problem” with rdruids normally is just the hot rotation, and the hots lasting so short that by the time you’re done with it, the hots are falling off and you have to start over. Now, add to that, currently, a full rotation of hots will not move the hp bar up when under fire. I feel quite impotent seeing how my team or my tank is being wittled away and me being unable to do anything more to counter act it. I dont have any of these problems on my r shaman.
Currently leveling my rsham too.
Already dumpstered the rdruid as it is lol
Putting in 4 times the effort as rdruid with a worse result is pointless.
I’ve noticed the same on my m0 and tier8 delves. Damage right now is just too damn spiky that even if I have LB, reju, regro hot and WG hot on a target I still have to sometimes resort on spammin regrowth on the party.
Also I would love to get instant WG back since often AoE dmg is so damn big that having cast time on the aoe heal feels bad. You basically have to pre-cast it before the AoE damage even happens.
Resto druid main here for the past 2 or 3 xpacs and for the first time since I started playing one I’m considering changing mains. I play alt healers as well and I feel like resto is insanely undertuned atm. I’m doing about the same hps on my 470 shaman then on my 490 resto druid. I’dd say skill issue except I’ve been healing on the shammy for a month or so and on the druid for the past 6-8 years
Currently in the numbers resto druids are the go-to healers for mythic+ but I’m not feeling it. Went back to tank as I do as much damage as moinkins atm.
is it just me or did the 8% hps buff do almost nothing? I’m always parsing in the 90% and higher in warcraft logs yet when I join random pugs other healing classes with lower or the same ilvl as me outheal me. And I’m not talking about a tiny bit I’m talking about I’m doing 600K hps and the other classes around 800-1mil hps… bliz REALY needs to check this out and buff or nerf accordingly
it’s getting really sad how Blizzard DESTROYED resto druid, we got the 8% buff (after 30% nerfe from test servers). I have the 4 set, and even then I can’t come close to other healers. I am a CE raider and was doing high keys with high parses, and currently struggle to time +5. We have NO DPS and NO Healing. I hope Blizzard will fix this soon, because I am thinking of swapping to another healer as many already did.
Resto feels just miserable. With burst in the game being greatly reduced you would think that HOT classes would become more attractive.
Tuning is horrible with Starsurge hitting almost as hard as on Balance. There was a time on beta where simply hardcasting Wrath amounted to higher dps than cat-weaving with heavy talent investment and it may still be the case. Somehow they didn’t buff kitty at all but decided to buff Balance caster spells by another 20%. Other classes have the convenience of doing damage in benefit of healing and for Druids dmg and healing are two separate events where one doesn’t empower other in any way other than for mana regen.
Also I don’t see how going into cat form is even a possibility when Rejuv heals for NOTHING over 10+ seconds. It is weak for Resto but has a completely insulting value of healing for other specs. Fluid Form sucks and doesn’t even include more important reactive spells such as Skull Bash. It is generally awkward to use and even going into cat form sucks massively for Guardian. Look at all those WHILE IN BEARFORM - MOONFIRE GETS BUFFED or convert arcane damage into healing talents. Such a sad oversight in class design.
Regrowth is also a joke for every role. In a game where Warriors heal for up to 30% from Victory rush while obliterating everything everything on screen and resetting the cooldown on kills, a DMG role Druid must spend entire mana bar to heal himself up. Even better for DH and Monk who don’t have to waste a GCD pressing a self heal button.
Healing value in relation to health have dropped off and we lost another talent in the general tree which worked well with Dream of Cenarius to empower Regrowth for a cast every 20 seconds on average, which sucks just as much as After the Wildfire (200=>300 rage spent even after Blood Frenzy nerf/cap).
Idk how Resto was even imagined to play in a raid. Do we just go full Rejuv and spam on everyone between uses of Wild Growth (which is garbage as well, but triggers bonus casts of Rejuv)? Reminds me of when Disc Priest was constantly spamming absorbs on a full raid.
Gameplay is dumb and completely degenerate. Do probably remember near the end of Dragonflight when they greatly reduced cost of Moonfire.
DOT catweaving + HOTS worked well for a time with PROPER tuning and different game design when tanks were much more self sufficient. Now having to babysit tanks I have less opportunity to shapeshift and with heals being so weak I can’t afford to waste a few valuable seconds applying bleeds because rest of the team might be in danger of dying to the next burst of damage.
Healing on Resto druid hasnt been this annoying for YEARS. I’ve played the class for 12+ years, and I cant actually remember being this frustrated by my class. My main frustration is that after a full hot rotation, ie. all my hots are on the team, their hp bars still go down, and I loose people. As Growl just recently said in his latest rankings video: The problem with resto druids is that they cant heal…
I had like 10+ druids lvl 70 in DF. My problem is that any other healing class doesnt feel as good as a resto druid normally does. So instead of swapping to another class chances are high I will simply skip this season until Blizz fixes my class.

Another heal buff announced. Numerically, Druid damage output is very good in comparison to other healers but being by far the worst at healing doesn’t offer much opportunity for cat form.
Damage intake isn’t as smooth as the developers tried to sell it. Tanks have had their sustain nerfed but they have much more breathing room due to increased health pools. The value of leech has also been halved and none of this helps because dungeons and instances still require massive tuning adjustments to reduce big bursts of harm. The change to self sustain had come too late into beta testing.
What bothers me the most (aside from the pathetic tuning) is that we still need to play around Grove Guardians. The overwhelming feedback has been that no one likes it and now we have an entire hero talent based around it and with 23% uptime it was 3rd in healing on the key that I just finished.
It’s clear to me that they have no idea what they’re doing with druid healing, especially when you compare it to every other healer going into this expansion.
I basically feel like whenever I need the grover guardians, they are never available. 20 seconds recharge, when they are such a big part of our healing, is too long with how m+ dungeons now work.
I have learned to use them in sets of 3. Basically in m+ I use Convoke for 1 pull and grove guardians for the second. This way I always have a big burst of healing available.
Rdruid feels actually really good in M+, especially compared to other healers. The only issue is getting invited because the youtubers and streamers gave us a bad tier.
I could see this with a stable group. The healing is fine it’s just not very geared towards healing mages that don’t know where any of their defensives are bound or talent into remove curse but, again, not bound.
Druid needs a little more set up for big healing when it’s not expected (I dare to assume people know the dungeons they’re in).
Anyway, sub ended.
I find other healers rather better for a pre made group, because people will not dodge your heals and can pop defensives if you are out of CDs. Rdruid on the other hand can pump all the time and does not rely that much on CDs or dps positioning like other healers. That’s actually the main reason why I dropped my shaman and went on my druid.
Ye Rdruid definitely needs dungeon knowledge but that’s gained super quick and then there are no surprises. Only dps fails being punished with a one shot
