State of WoW PvP and why I unsubbed

I play WoW (retail) exclusively for PvP (BG’s). Like many others, I put in time and effort to get PvP gear but its very rare to get a remotely fair game; I am constantly being matched against premades.

Whats infuriating is this is easily fixable; PvP games like LoL, DotA ALWAYS match premades AGAINST premades and solo queuers against solo queuers. All blizzard needs to do is copy that concept, and make all matchmaking mixed faction for faster matches. Problem solved.

Two small tweaks and you have yourself a PvP goldmine that many would re sub for. Has it been done? No, because blizzard does not respect our time and has always treated BG’s / PvP as an afterthought.

Sadly premade problem is a big problem for pvp and a lot of people are complaining about it and they are right.
most of the times that i want to go do some bgs / as soon as i see them in the bgs it kills all the hype and energy.

i hope they fix this in midnight

Alas Blizzard does not care. This has been talked about for a decade now, it just feels worse due to PvP declining over the years. It’s really sad how they won’t take a stance for this obnoxious behavior.. Doesn’t help that if you go to the PVP > Battlegrounds Forum you’ll be met with tons of premaders defending their position with bad faith arguments and lies.

To buy another tesla?

This is a thing for quite a while, weirdly enough barely any premades were this rampant or had that much interest in unrated pvp before the age of honorlevels and that dataofazeroth ranking. Bloodstones are just another joke to reward this furthermore.

its all so tiresome.

i have 20 of them (tesla chars)

Indeed. Do blizzard devs even look at EU forums?

I completely agree and the only fix I’ve found is to play solo rated BG’s which, to be fair, is an extremely good solution, turns out.

No more premades, and the enemies are tuned according to your own skill level. It’s actually awesome fun, I should do it again.

Although… I think I’ll wait until Midnight, because right now the class design is too messy.

Yes they look at the housing hype threads :>

If its any solace the us forum is also being ignored to the point people stopped writing there in the same amount they did before, had the hope that so much people actively posting there throughout the tww seasons will set something in movement but it didn’t.

Blizzard should remove Bloodstone for Midnight and never let pvp player doing some gold by PvP.

there’s 10 of you still playing pvp lmao.

I don’t think they can afford to split the playerbase like that

I just stop until Midnight

May I have all your cows at your farm?

The most fun that I still get doing pvp is in epic bg .

At what mmr are you playing at?

I got my priest to like 2.7k mmr and just stopped, the amount of wintrading is just insane. If I played games continously during one evening, about 1/3rd of the games contained a healer that just leaves if he’s not on his healer friends(who is duoing with a dps) team.

Oh it’s terrible. I didn’t play at all this season. Last season I got to 2.2k I think, but my MMR was often hovering 2.4k. I just never played enough games to actually match my MMR and CR because the queue is… long?

I’m not the PvP-head I used to be. I get overwhelmed by the outrageous number of effects on-screen. This started in Dragonflight. I’m hoping Midnight will fix it.

That wintrading situation sounds awful, but probably only possible at really high rating I imagine. But yeah that definitely needs to be handled.

But like… back when I was a big PvP head we had huge problems with wintrading as well. In fact, since we had battlegroups, people would actually migrate to other battlegroups to increase their chance at Gladiator. -_-

sorry these are just highland cows and souldefiler has a priority on them

5% of the player base pvp and its bene like that for a decade…

You don’t need to match mmr and cr. having more mmr than cr actually protects you from getting too much/or even any minus if you lose. Therefore you had a small buffer for a small loosing streak. You could have done that grandmarshall and probably even get it.

i dont remember the exact number but some dh in the pvp forum posted that 14xx people got 2.4 in the first season which is always the most played one, this number is really low considering shuffle and blitz being another alternative to arena/rbg. I wouldn’t consider “instead of bgs just play blitz” as a nice solution to the premade problem at all.
