Stats confusing in classic-plz help

Hi guys,

I have played retail and know what classic need each stat there.

In vanilla however I find it a bit hard to know if a green item is good and should be sold on AH or not.

I sometimes find cloth gear with strength for example = useless.

My questions are:

-I first thought that Strength were only for warriors/paladin, but then I read online that even rogues and hunters and ferals get 1 Attack power per strength so do they wear strength gear also?

Do hunters for example benefit from stength gear and warriors from agility?

  • Do all classes need spirit, or does it benefit some classic more than others?

  • Do all melee classes warriors, rogues, paladins, feral benefit from attackpower?

  • Do both Strength/agility generate attack power, and is there an equation like
    X agility = Y attack power?

  • Can attackpower be viewed as spellpower for casters?

Cheers guys

You can find some indept information over at wowhead to the stats! (google: wowhead overview of stats on classic wow)

But in general, yes all classes benefit from spirit, but its not as needed in 1.12 as we do play now. Spirit was better for warriors example in the beginning of vanilla. In classic, its just some more health regen between pulls.

Yes, all classes (even casters) benefit from attackpower, as long as you deal physical damage to your opponent. Meele swings, attacks, weapon swings (not wands as far as I reckon), and ranged attackpower for hunters.

Yes, both strength and agility generate attackpower, see wowhead for details.

Yes, attackpower can essentially be viewed the same as spellpower /healing power. Just for physical attacks, not magical ones. For example, paladins I believe use spellpower for some of their attacks.

This isn’t 100% accurate but definitely useful.
