All I was trying to convey is that if you don’t have enough gs for a simple 25man pug raid, you likely haven’t spent almost any time to gear your character and are basically expecting a free carry and getting upset when you aren’t given it.
Do some heroics, run some 10mans, and wow what a surprise, now you can go do 25mans. Not that hard. Also stop giving the bs about “boohoo my bis items are low gs”. If you are otherwise well geared, having a couple 200 il items will not drop you below the gs limit lol.
TLDR: The only people who cry about GS are simply extremely badly geared. They wouldn’t be accepted to the raid anyway if it was an inspect check rather than a GS check.
Unless the raidleader is too dumb and lazy to check your gear in addition to your overall gearscore, you’d get inspected regardless, which defeats the purpose of it.
Even back in the days, many people kept to their guilds. People who relied on pugs would boost gearscore all the time by equipping higher ilvl stuff that wasn’t even for their class/spec to get an invite, then just equip their real gear in raid.
I don’t have it installed, I never have issues getting into groups but I’m only pugging VOA and daily dungeons anyway, I’ve only been asked maybe 2-3 times so far in total and I just told them I don’t use the addon, I have not been turned down yet.
The GS enjoyers like to say that people who dislike the addon are people with bad gear who can’t get invited. Just to say I’m mostly 25man geared, I’ve cleared all content on 10/25 and have Immortal/Undying, my logs are also very good. The problem with the addon is it encourages you to favour higher GS over a balanced/optimised set, and my gearset is perfectly balanced, which is part of why it performs well.
Inspecting someone tells you a lot more than a GS number, checking their logs is the only way to figure out performance regardless.
I’m complaining about GS, my gear is probably better than yours and so are my logs. So what you’re saying is simply not true. People who are GS enjoyers usually have poor to average logs and are using the addon as some sort of compensation for self worth in game.
if you don’t agree with GS ignore it - I do - simple - what’s you GS " I have no interest in GS" - if you don’t get an invite who cares - lots of groups out there - you are making a drama out of a spec of dust
