it’s 12+ game and have been since the start sure its also rated for Teen but if you can’t behave you don’t deserve to play

This is very bad.
I mean only 10 days for say a bad word?
I would prefer 1 month ban and the 2nd time a perma ban.
We are middle aged ppl who want to play after work and the least i need is someone to yell or spill bad words everywere.

I gave you an example on a game from 99 that was competitively played. You refuse to take that into account. Same for Quake 3, CS 1,6.
Its the current generation that is the problem. Not people whom take offense to this.
You may find it ‘funny’ but others do not.
This has always been in affect one way or another.
You have no value. You do not speak of a ‘you problem’ you speak of a problem where a generation generally is toxic in alot of games.
Doesnt make yu offended but it also does not make it right.

What do you mean by “prudish hysteria”. When you behave like that on a football field, you get a yellow (or even red) card even if you are going for your own team mates.
Has nothing to do with prudish or hysteria or America, but with standard human behaviour.
And football isn’t even popular for it’s exemplary human interaction.

should ban people entering with PVE gear… had won 5 games in row… then got a priest with pve gear lost the entire shuffle…just …cant be arsed anymore.
Can guarantee all the people who are toxic in game don’t speak to people in real life like that. We all know why.

Its so much easier and quicker to curse irl in your own room then to actually sit there and type insults in game they deserve a ban

While I agree there are words that shouldn’t be considered “bad”(see, the first seven of George Carlin’s Inappropriate Words skit, starting with heck, hell, etc) you shouldn’t need to use them to get a point across.
People are just too sensitive these days.
Still. Rules are rules. Personal opinions won’t change rules.

Let me put a scenario in your heads, How would you feel if your grandma or mother was in the shop and she was taking way to long to pay for her things and I start shouting insults or swearing at them. For example my older female friend got called a “c word” in game the other day for making a simple mistake. If I called your mother that as you stood there. and you come towards me and my reply is “People are to sensitive these days, snowflake” would you agree?
You don’t know who you’re talking to online, It could be a 12 year old, could be a 70 year old women. If you want to do this to people online you’re a weak person who is scared to do it in real life.

I find it hard to believe a large corporation is telling us how to think and speak all the while using every mental trick and tactic in the book to extract maximum profit from people??
It’s not like they created a pay to win environment that is funded on gold sales from a token you can purchase from the in game store now?
You guys need a reality check, these corporations only serve to protect you and your best interests!!

Indeed although I don’t curse at anyone, if I drop something, bang myself or the worst of the worst stub my toe I have been known to invoke curse words…

no one cared we all just laughed then t-bagged them later on.
no one was ever banned or kicked for it, it was just normal… i guess people were made of stronger stuff back then.

No. Companies just failed to apply rules or hadn’t the staff to enforce them.
You’re basically talking about the time the internet and especially games where the playground for young stupid men (no women) and this gaming thing was a niche.
Most companies didn’t have public forums or even “own” servers and so a lot of that happened on clan owned servers that weren’t supervised by anyone.
Makes no sense comparing that time to today.

Ah Barrysworld and finding servers via Gamespy I do miss thee. Time were indeed different but so were we, we’ve moved on from the late 90s and this is a good thing.
I get my pvp fix in dota, and there’s so much badwords flying around, and I love it. People tilting is very fun, and for me, a core experience in pvp competitive games.
I used to play csgo, and getting the other guy to tilt was extremely fun. But mind you, “c words” aint gonna cut it, you have to actually get under their skin, and that is not throwing out cancer words randomly, you have to aim at his skillset and make him insecure in the game. Even in real life sports, getting your opponent to tilt is very rewarding, and amusing that causes laughter by eventually both parts. A simple smile when he does a mistake he shouldn’t do is enough to tip the game in your favor.
Learn how to tilt people, and make enemies
What? On the biggest communities on those games you would actually get reported.
Communitys like I4Games, Truffnet, did ban you, especially if you kept on doing it.
Even clanbase and clans did not allow this to an extend its just dumb insultery.
Also please dont make this about ‘tea bagging’. Its not about that.
If you didnt get banned on individual servers, then you played on servers that wernt really adminned properly, which did exist back in the day, but even in the case of these games, these servers where very limited. Most adminned servers didnt even have to be in game to admin.
Use kindness in your texting and you will not be suspended.
