i never joined a community in those games,
never suffered a ban or a kick from a server and i said some crap in my teenage years for all to hear.

I did report a guy in solo shuffle that used toxic words against me becouse i was rusty that game.
I tried to tell him that i was trying to improve but he just kept going on with his words.

Most youngsters are eager to get offended unfortunately.
Cursing on internet is same as being offended by everything. There is a middle ground where i can understand someone being frustrated by another player and call a name while being angry but i also understand someone that being heavily insulted just by not playing a game well.
Best thing is that since you cannot control other people behavior , just ignore them. That will help you a lot

I used to flame people in first month of my DF adventure but then comes the acceptance. Still having times like “Should I type something to this npc?” then giving up, not saying anything or saying things like “Are you keeping that CD for your next lobby?”.
I just gave up on trying to teach people instead I play silently without saying anything and laugh here in irl. Raging is also addictive once you start paying attention to their mistakes there is no end of it, you rage more and more and more, eventually flame everyone and almost punch the screen 
Having different alts and playing extremely low ratings perhaps helped me alot to see funny side of PvP, I just realized 90% of players are just bad and extremely prone to making mistakes, there is no solution to this, accept and have fun.
