Stop banning people for using a bad word in Solo Shuffle

Who says their feelings have been hurt? Maybe they just don’t think that swearing is suitable in a 12+ game in a random group.

if you make a competitive game and then label it 12+

making it about killing and war…

then expect no bad words to be thrown.?

not very logical.

A game with no graphic depictions of killing or war.

Given a 12+ label by the censors due to this fact.

Sounds fairly logical to me.

i dont know where you live, but here in UK teenagers especially younger ones and namely (female) speak some of the most vile language you are likely to hear.

i feel blizzard are trying desperately to protect the younger players from bad words, then the younger players dont give a …

instead mr 30+ year old suffers a ban in a pvp match because he called someones mum ugly.

Again, this isn’t the point.

The point is that it is a 12+ game therefore expletives aren’t allowed. It doesn’t matter if people of that age already swear like troopers if Blizzard allow people to swear within their public games and it gets reported then the censors for both the US and EU will change the age rating on the game.

Blizzard are obviously keen to keep the 12+ rating hence depictions of killing and war and toned down to a cartoony feel with no graphic content and any reports of swearing in public, random games, are dealt with accordingly.

Calling someone’s mum ugly won’t, or shouldn’t, get you banned. Using an expletive at the same time, will, or should.

I doubt that Blizzard even care that much but to keep the 12+ rating on the game they have to act in these circumstances.

The game has a mature language filter which is defaulted to on. To see any curse words you must opt-in, kinda like world pvp. You have to go out of your way to do it. If a report is “Oh they said a word to me/about me that I don’t like” the canned response should be steps on how to turn the mature language filter back to on.

It was a good time. It all started to slide about ~2012. Shame really. Normies ruined the internet.

Considering we dont know what OP said (And going by his forum post history), I really doubt it was not a targeted insult.

When did blizzard give wow 12+? Pegi did, which is totally unrelated to blizzard.

However. You’re still playing a game with other people so you should respect others.

We didnt go yell at each other in games like Unreal Tournament. Why are you special?

Actions have consequences. People need to learn that calling someone racist/sexist/religious/nationality slurs absolutly SHOULD be reported and i take great delight in seeing people who harrass others over a stupid game punished.

Its not nice

Would you say those things to somebody in real life?
No
So why online

For you… not everyone is the same… I am a successful professional in my 40’s but I am on the spectrum and you’d be amazed how difficult I find it to shake off comments at times… they grow and stew and I make them a lot more than they are…

Now this is on ME but if we could have a place where not throwing the N word (almost gone now) using someones sexuality as an insult and using terrible terms relating to genetic mental disabilities as insults it would be a much better place… or do you not agree?

As an adult, typing swear words at people in a video game is beyond laughable. Complaining on the forums about suffering consequences for childish and insulting behaviour even more so.

im too addicted

I have nothing to add to this, it just bears repeating for good measure.

The mature filter is actually a Sting operation!

i dont yell at people either, i just dont have problem with people who do.

yeah i mean no disrespect but the fact you take offene to things is a you problem, sure others cause it, but you choose to take offense to it.

You didn’t answer my question though. .Do you feel the world would be a better place if we stopped using sexuality, race, religion and illnesses as terms of insult?

As I have said and others have repeated. I cannot think of any situation in WoW where a grown adult would want to (or need to) insult another human being…

The issue is not mine, it is the abuser (and anyone who defends them) It is 2023 an time we moved on from it.

i think it would be no different, there would be a new thing to replace it or a new thing for people to take offense at.

i do not agree with any of the above btw to make that clear, each is dispicable.

but to say the world would be better without it is naive, hate is a part of life, learning to live with it without it effecting you IS the way forward.
