I do my best to not get into a verbal spat because imho angry people are people that cannot be reasoned with because all they care about when they are angry is to “win” the argument in their head

not everybody.
a example would be a lot of the time i get angry about wow, is because i actually care about the game.
however if someone insults me based on what i have to say, i dont hold back in return.
if they talk civil i respond civil.
I am talking about people who are angry as if feeling that they are attacked by on the other end of the discussion, not just displeased with the direction of a game
its kind of the same imo.

So if someone insults you based on your religion or says “i hope you get raped” or “get cancer and die”

Mature language filter does not exist just so you can swear online rules still apply, learn to communicate without swearing or do not communicate at all.

Not at all ok, but just feel sorry for them, as they think that just putting words together makes them look clever.
Just laugh at them and move on.
i was actually told once i would of done extremely well in the military because of my unwavering tolerance and self awareness and will power if i picked that path.
i didnt pick that path…
but they claimed i would of flown up the ranks.

swearing had existed for 1000’s of years as a free form of expression.
you guys are silencing that expression because “it hurt my feelings”
no matter how offended you get at people who cuss, it will always be there .
you can try safespace yourself or you can laugh it off and learn to deal with it.
safespace is a regression tactic there is no progression from not dealing with problems.
blizzard wants you to feel safe because it opens your wallets and makes you play the game, they dnt care about your feelings they care about keeping you in the game.
thats why they talk big on toxicity in this game but do the literal bare minimum to combat it.
