Stop the Fires! - Overtuned?

My shard/realm has failed the last 5-7 attempts at getting this. We’re multiple people trying to put out the fires the best we can, and yet we still keep failing. Why was the Brewfest one designed so that people could almost solo it and get the reward for everyone, yet multiple people trying really hard can constantly fail?

8th fail now - people keep leaving and being discouraged. Fires keep respawning almost instantly before I can go back and grab another bucket. With less and less people doing these events, the design of this makes it harder. Can we please get it nerfed where fires spawn less?

Go to Goldshire, always more people there.

The one in Azure Watch (Azuremyst Isle) is dead easy - it can be completed solo.

They might be broken, as in Goldshire the voicelines get yelled seemingly at random and the event seems to start, stop, reset, and restart also seemingly at random. Whether its actually made sometimes easier or harder as a result of that I don’t know

I tried this a few times on my levelling character but the fires are too aggressive and very few people are even trying now. Even when we had three or four of us it was just impossible.

I have now given up on stopping the fires after several attempts. In Goldshire there’s been 5-100 people, but the vast majority are just idling or duelling; and rumour has it that their presence causes more fires than if there were less people.

So a busy location is a bust.

Alone in Kharanos, the fire was still spreading faster than I could keep up with.

So an empty location is a bust.

Not going to say its impossible, maybe there are conditions under which it can be done - but it does appear to be excessively difficult for a seasonal event. Which has resulted in me deciding to not bother trying unless there’s some sort of announcement of a hotfix to reduce the rate of fire spread.

Right now it just feels like an utter waste of my time :frowning:

Yesterday in Razor Hill I’ve seen a successful dousing in team of 3.
15 minutes later 8 guys couldn’t stop the damn fires from spreading.

Must be some stupid hidden scaling, checking how many people are in the zone (Durotar), not in the vicinity of the event or actively participating. Or it’s just broken, wouldn’t be surprised :smiley:

I agree, this year it has been almost impossible to do. It does seem that any people hanging around the place are adding to severity of the fires, so if there is people there who do not participate they (unknowingly) contribute to failure. Or this is how it feels as least.

I feel like the previous years were sometimes just as bad. I really don’t get it, i put out a fire and it burns again 1 sec later. No point in doing it sometimes.

And the afk “pros” just standing there looking pretty while ignoring calls for help. If you’re making it harder at least help out.

To be fair i don’t think they do it in purpose or even realize it has any effect on event. Goldshire always has so many people afking or dueling or doing other things.

I also gave up on the fire event, seems pointless
