Store mount in TBC

Well it looks like after everyone supported the boost, Blizzard have taken it a step further

Wowhead have appeared to uncover a store mount in the TBC beta files through data mining

There are a number of possibilities for this, from store mount to the mount players are provided with for boosting their character

If this isn’t enough to make you quit classic, then at least do the following:

If you’re on a PvP server, then you see a paypig riding their mount, you gank them. Make roving parties of spawncampers to ruin these guys day.

If you’re on a PVE server then you’ll just need to blacklist them and grief them some other way, but just make sure you never invite them or help them with group content

That is all, depending on how blizzard responds to the leak depends on how much money TBC private servers will make this year

Ok…

So, Blizzard implements X. Which you do not agree with.
Player Y think “that is nice, lemme buy that”

And you want us to punish Y for what X did?

Yes

People supporting in game store mounts are the reason Blizzard keeps putting them in

They will be ganked

Then be a real tough guy and take it to Blizzard.
Not to some average Joe just doing his thing.

If i would see somebody ganking a horde for this reason, i would gank the so called ganker.

Other than unsubbing and making forum posts (neither of which blizzard care about) there’s not really much to do

I’m still waiting to find out what the source of the mount is, but since it is low res and in TBC files, it exists for TBC and not retail, before people start claiming it’s a retail mount

In my opinion boost are worse. Store mounts doesn’t affect me at all. Boosted bots yes.

I’d say not to jump the gun, even though you should put your hand on it. Might as well get the full details on what is going to happen.

The main reason for my post (while inflammatory) is to aggravate and get people talking about this

If we want boosts and things like this taken away, we need to be clear and vocal, starting now

The problem is, too many people are indifferent or even defend it, which will just lead to wow tokens and even more boosts in TBC and WOTLK classic

In my opinion a WoW token only works in combination with personal loot (i.e. in retail). Imagine GDKP with people being able to buy unlimited gold within the TOS. Pure P2W

Was it that hard to see a topic already?

Another point is that Blizzard are already making plenty of money from subs for a game that requires very little development and upkeep

They’re a company and they’re allowed to make money, but how long are they going to keep adding more monetisation and not pay their employees? I wouldn’t really care if they were a company that looked after their staff, but with all the layoffs and Bobby’s 200m bonus, I think the last thing we should be doing is giving this man more money

Oh sorry, the site didn’t show me a similar threads like it usually does

But the more posts, the more awareness!

Theres literally no evidence towards the datamined warpstalker mount being a store mount… its literally mentioned, in the files as being a promotion… So unless its a 6month sub mount (which is unlikely as those are always flying mounts) it’ll have to be from an actual promotion linked to BC Classic (level to 70 get this mount on retail perhaps?) but i’m 99.5% sure its NOT a store mount.

Why am I supposed to care? If the person in question knows how to play, behaves well and contributes to the group or raid, why am I supposed to carry about what they do with their real money?

And before you say “because this is like retail”… Retail would be awful even with no MTX whatsoever. If I had to choose between BFA or Shadowlands with no paid services and TBC or WotLK with an in-game shop, I’d choose the latter in a heartbeat.

In the end, it’s more about how my character plays out and how the game works as a whole, rather than what shiny mount some other people have. Heck, people back in TBC had stuff like Spectral Tigers as mount - I didn’t care back then, why should I now?

the subs to world of warcraft nowadays is NOT the moneymaker for blizzard… if the game only had subs they’d be losing money on server costs etc, especially as they are now supporting 2 games (soon to be 3 games) with the same sub… The money maker currently is Hearthstone, Overwatch (loot packs) and the ingame store on retail…

You mention bobby’s bonus… all of it was paid out in stocks, so Acti/Blizz lost no actual cash on it (in fact, it’ll only bring cash in) the 83M$ he got paid was from stocks he sold, Not a direct payout from the firm, The layoffs has NOTHING to do with his bonus.

But to bring it back to the main point… Blizzard wanting to find ways to make money (The 58 boost covering the original "expansion sales) etc, should not come as a suprise and does not warrant anyone to be angry about it, they are a company, they NEED to make money to even have the servers going, and this is how they do it.

If this actually happens I’m done. That’s it.

I’m pretty sure there are ‘Blizz like’ private servers out there without all this cash shop garbage.

Again, its not a store mount… Its literally in the game files as a promotional mount…

You know that you don’t need to buy anything from the SHOP  only thing you need to pay is game time or SUB if you want to play the game that is the only thing
and every 2 year you buy new expac
people these days are very interesting
companies never changed

It better not be a store mount. I’m still going to play, despite the boost, grudgingly, and with much ill will, and disillusionment. But store mounts would be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

Now… I’m not personally against the blizzard store (heck, i’ve bought a few things from there myself over the 16 years i’ve played) so i dont see the big problem here… people can just decide to not buy it IF it should end up being a store mount… Theres literally nothing that forces you to buy it (now, if it gave an advantage like the auctionhouse mount on retail) i’d see why it’d be a bad thing… But as just “another mount” i dont see the issue personally…

Its the same as i’d personally be very happy to see them bring faction change onto the classic TBC servers (makes sense here now that both factions has all classes compared to on vanilla classic) while i see why others think of this as a “capitalistic move” and “Blizzard is greedy and just wants money” theres just really no proper argument for or against having it in there… Its a quality of life thing, Paid, yes, But quality of life none the less… Mounts and other cosmetic items, i have no issue with being on the store… but ANYTHING that gives you player power, or gives you an advantage in any way, has to be obtainable ingame…
