Same problem here. Tried to delete wtf and cache, didn’t work, ran a repair, didn’t work either.

Interesting is, when I logging to PTR I was able to copy one of the two chars, where I used the Update Gear Manager and the other chars tells me “Error while copying”. On the live server the char that I was abled to copy seems to be finished processing, whatsoever, but the other char is still stuck in limbus, with “Processing”

I have the same problem too, also caused by clicking on the ‘Gear Upgrade’ option. Identical to the video here.
To be exact to help troubleshooting, I did the gear upgrade on my mage that used to me my main but haven’t played in ages (so likely full bags, full quest log and not be on since level squish). Gave the gear upgrade about 10 minutes to complete but it wasn’t doing anything, so restarted the game and now stuck with this issue.

Can someone confirm the following please:
Use the PTR 10.1.7, copy your account data to a realm of your choice. Copy a chart that is not was not used by the Update Gear Manager and than a char that used the manager… if my assumption is correct, the char without the update should copy just finde, while the one with the update cannot be copied…

I tried what you just did, with coping a none boosted char til ptr, my lvl 70 dh, and went back to live after i did so, now i can log into my retail game again, not getting stuck anymore on character creation.

Interesting I still cannot but I think that confirms that the PTR is somehow reseting the boosted char

That said, the characters i tried to boost is on a different realm than my dh is, so after copying my dh to the ptr, it kinda reset the creation screen back to the realm my main is on. When i tried to go to my boosted characters realm, i get the same error again. Getting stuck on the creating char.

Having the same issue with the character creation screen after a Gear Update. Cannot do anything right now. This is on ArgentDawn EU.

Can anyone else confirm that when you copy one not boosted char to the PTR and a boosted char (presumable on the same realm). the boosted char may be copied (or gets an error while copying)… if the boosted char can be copied you can log into retail as normal?
I hope they fix this soon, but I can confirm that it has to do with the Character Upgrade function. When I hit escape my Warlock still says “processing”…
I’m sorry but I do not have access to PTR right now.
I’ve just created a support ticket. Maybe some of you should do that to so the incident can get attention.
Of course, this was the first thing i did, but they are so slow in answering tickets…
So we can confirm that it is a problem with the Update gear manager and the realm… unfortunately I only play on one realm so I cannot confirm that.
Since “Character Stuck” function also gets an error, even if it says the char is applyable. The chars are stuck somewhere else.
Hopefully Blizzards finds a solution today.
I was able to log in again. Looks like it has been solved or the issue solved itself.
Did you do anything in particular, or just waited? How long?
