Stuck on quest "Recap: Shadowy Pursuits" from The War Within catch up campaign

Stuck on War Within catch up campaign, on the quest “Recap: Shadowy Pursuits”. I went inside Dornogal but the NPC was not there. I abandoned the quest but nothing happened. Tome can’t help me.

I found a solution on the American forum (https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/merrix-is-missing-in-catch-up-the-war-within-return-to-dornogal/2208756/51) post 49 by Valkorie.
Solution:

  • Abandoned the catch up story
  • Activated the options to display low lvl quests
  • Started from “Message from Khadgar” quest from the library in Stormwind keep, at some point the quest series ends when Khadgar and Jeina are discussing in Dalaran and no follow up appears, then i started the The War Within campaign from journal (Shift + j).

Same, me and another 5 ppl are stuck on the same quest. There’s already a topic on it on the US forums as well, raised yesterday, no reply from Blizzard yet.

Quest appears to be bugged with no work around found yet, and Blizzard apparently sending some ppl to Wowhead….

Same. Still not fixed, others on US forums are being sent to wowhead or are told that support is not there for giving them hints etc..
I got back to wow like 3 days ago and I’ve NEVER seen more bugs than during these few days. I suddenly can’t cast because “im mid air/moving” while i was not, my skills disappear from bars after I chose talent, can’t loot, can’t finish quests now. Should I be grateful I can even log in and play? lol

Update:
Did they remove the recap questline or what? I logged in and the quest with Merrix “Return to dornogal” completely disappeared (as well as the whole general recap “shadowy pursuits” quest). I have a quest from Moira, but this is from the “original” questline that I abandoned, not recap. I had started it before but didn’t finish, I just restarted everything with recap. So now it looks like recap just disappeared completely and I have to redo everything from original questline.
Anyone else?

I’m at Valdrakken, if I accept the recap : SOP i can’t move from behind the Tome of History, can’t not use any UI.

I can only move if I untrack the quest.

Any update on what to do??

i have same issu support dont do any thing and still bugged cant fly in dornagal and do earthen race!

I cant believe it but I fixed it by utter accident.

Here is what you can do:
Accept the recap quest till you reach the point where you have the quest: Recap Shadowy Pursuits.

Just open the bloody quest log while you have the recap quest active and abandon it. Not via the book but the journal-menu. The book should then offer you the quest again and everything should be fixed.

Let me know if that worked for you, it certainly worked for me.

TLDR: Accept shadowy pursiuts from the recap book, open quest journal and abandon recap quest there and accept the recap quests again from book.
