deleted my account and all my characters then log back in and now it works for me
I have 65 lv 80 characters, they’re just doing it in waves, but it probably does take a little longer for people with more characters

some of my friends too. but still… i dont think all of our warbands are on the same server… mine is scattered through different realms also…

We do have people working on it actively as we speak, this is definitely true
As much as it pains me to admit this, the fact that some players have been able to login is unfortunately just a coincidence 
The root cause of the problem is still being worked on, and we do not have indeed updates to share regarding when this issue will be fully fixed.

i fixed it for me by deleting my whole WTF folder and letting it generate a new one.
It’s just started an update..
I just keep refreshing “stuck character service” as long as it shows only my classic panda I created for the mount I know it’s likely to be stuck :<

ye I was ingame around 2:30am- server announced shutdown. Thats ok. But its 10hrs and still getting stucked at “retrieving character list” … thats just not OK :l

i ripped out the root of the problem like amanthul did to ysharj and now it works for me
Feels wild that things are getting fixed on their own but it’s not due to Blizzard’s efforts lmao
