Unfortunately that is how economics and inflation works. Blizzard has nothing to do with it. You should complain at your own goverment. If Blizzard made special prices for every countries guess what would happen. More countries would like these privilage, but that is not all. It would create black market, because some “clever” people would be buying the codes in your country, selling it in EU while making profit.
Blizzard cannot solve the economical problems of your country and it is underestandable that they want profit and it seems, that it is not profitable for them to sell subs for lower prices.
Profit and economy is never fair, blizz is a company, not a supreme court or charity. There will always be rich people and poor people. The world will never be fair.
I think you also need to factor in that people furloughed and stuck at home will also by default increase their utility bills. So I would disagree that they are quite probably ‘better off’.
I remember the uproar that happened when the GBP sub price was increased by I believe £1.00.
People across the world are going to be unhappy with the price for global products/subscriptions.
We all need to think ourselves lucky that with the increase in wages and all other consumables that go into making games, our subscription price doesn’t rise year on year.
setting a price for different countries would lead to players buying the subs on ebay, using VPN to change their locations etc. It’s very easy to exploit this and the exploitation would be perfectly understandable - why overpay in your home country if you can get the same thing from some poor country (through VPN) and pay a fraction of the price.
WOW sub has also been pretty consistent and not subject to inflation. It still costs nearly the same amount as it used to do in 2005 or whenever wow launched.
The only thing i’m kinda salty about is the mtx. Blizzard prices on mtx are simply way too expensive. A mount shouldn’t cost as much as 2 months of game time. I could understand high pricing on mtx if this was F2P game like Path of Exile. POE has even more outlandish mtx prices, to the point of armor transmog effects costing $30 if purchased raw for the in-game points (10 pts = $1)
