I want to talk about a couple of suggestions below, to keep the server populations healthy. If you guys agree, lets try and get some traction.
Alliance Rend Buff - the frequency is dropping due to raid logging and general attrition, which will only get worst.
Its not engaging gameplay waiting around to get mind controlled (which could backfire) for hours on end instead of doing something productive.
If Horde can go about getting this buff as well, so its fair - I’m all for it.
More Joyous Journeys - If people have something to progress they will play more. Due to the current levelling speed it puts a lot of people off playing alts, as it takes too long. If we could have a few weeks here and there in between phases, it would be ideal.
There’s a reason 20000 people play mages because it takes half the time to level.
With a quicker cadence in releases, it makes sense to me at least that we have a quicker levelling experience to match.
I acknowledge the level of #Copium here, but if we suffer in silence it doesn’t help anyone.
Really just something that super sweaty people go for, would rather see songflower not on CD than getting a Rend buff for ally.
JJ have no place in vanilla, but at least there are some good things that could come from that like for example more groups for low level dungeons. But as a principle if you want a alt you should have to work for it in my mind.
I completely disagree on your alliance rend take. Just log in and stand near xroads whenever a rend is off CD…What value comes from not having an alliance counterpart in anniversary servers? As OP said standing around for hours to get a backfire is just not fun or productive at all and the premise that only “super sweaty” players will want rend buff for raids is just outdated in todays playerbase.
I don’t really see an argument against this. Everyone loves Vanillas slower pace, the first couple times they do it.
It’s 2025, all of us have done this a million times. Most of us still enjoy the world, but I think it’s fair to say the pacing is simply too slow.
Levelling on SoD was great because of JJ, the pacing isn’t too fast nor is the gold gain broken. It just overall feels better.
People may argue against this but what’s the current meta to level an alt ? Literally boosting. Afk boosting and giving gold to people who may be using it legitimately but often times are not.
Add in JJ then ban mage boosting for gold or make it unviable. It will be healthier for the game.
My man, you hit the nail on the head.
The sweats get their rend to compete on a high end level without a big hassle.
Non-sweats get a chance to level alts and experience other classes on a humane pace.
A win for both the dadgamer who doesn’t have 50hours a week to spend and the tryhard who doesnt have to waste several hours waiting on something trivial.
Only super sweaty players are getting it, you dont need it at all unless you are a super sweaty player, giving more casual players one more thing they “need” to get for raids is just stupid, if we didnt have todays playerbase then it might actually be ok but its the playerbase that thinks that full worldbuffs is needed for MC and BWL that would suffer from having one more world buff they need to get every single raid.
Joyous Journeys is not quality of life, it’s a straight up buff that removes a lot of the challenge of vanilla. However, with how godawful questing is prior to TBC and how difficult it is to put together normal runs for half the dungeons at this point even as a healer, I wouldn’t mind a buff to XP.
I can never get over rend and it’s defenders. It’s obviously and on its face a broken situation. Either have an Alliance counterpart, for example for saving the princess in BRD, OR have it not apply to Ally under any circumstance. I don’t even get rend as a mage and just the thought of it existing fills me with moderate annoyance.
If WoW released in its vanilla state now or even a decade ago, it would get absolutely eviscerated on the internet and laughed off the market. The only reason Blizz got away with releasing what amounted to early access alpha game is because it was first broad appeal global mmo. Imo the game wasn’t even really finished until patch 2.1 or so. Rend is a perfect encapsulation of how broken vanilla was. Broken in that only Horde has it AND in that actually Ally can get it too through an ars-backward exploit. I hate that it exists.
I have no strong thoughts about JJ vs boosting, I don’t really do alts. Making vanilla levelling take half as long won’t make it enjoyable. Just a shorter suck.
