Suggestion for Aggrend! Training Dummies! - #40 by Xicht-wild-growth because i really don’t see them adding something we already have even though the current ones are sub-par, the fact is even in wotlk classic where they do have proper target dummies in capital cities they are still sub-par for rage based classes since the rage gained from them isn’t the same as in raid even fully unbuffed (except with battle shout) i do half the damage on a dummy than in raid because of this even with only personals in both instances
Bro went from “be happy with these crappy dummies!”
To
“We need better dummies than WotLK version”
Very fast.
true, but people are allowed to change their minds.
good that he did not stay stubborn on his first oppinion
True.
Waiting for 5+days for the next announcement is really annoying
I hope for some good warlock changes next week and for these training dummies next phase!
I 100% agree!
I even 200% agree!
I am pushing this topic just in case somebody wants to read something that is not pvp aura related
Aggrend already addressed this directly, and the answer is a resounding “nO”.
training dummies add further toxicity to an already toxic raid environment.
we don’t need raid leaders micromanaging us more than they already do, through WCL and other tools.
i kid you not, i was struggling to perform as Unholy DK in wrath (couldn’t quite nail the ridiculous snapshotting and priority rotation flawlessly 24/7) and my guild leader unironically told me to got sit on a target dummy for 6 hours to improve my skill.
oh, and for context; my dps wasn’t “bad” it was above average, it just wasn’t literally number 1.
i told him to kick rocks.
But this is a special case, and not a standard happening.
People can change their minds sometimes.
I am just tired of calculating and wcl analysing all the stuff instead of just testing it.
based on my anecdotal experience as per what i explained above (raid leader unironically telling me to sit on a dummy for 6 hours) i never want to see another target dummy in any version of the game ever again.
blizzard clearly agrees with me, and also find it disgusting how much raid leaders are micromanaging every aspect of their raiders right now.
the game is easy; it allows room for error - but this is something most raid leaders are not going to tolerate. its either flawless or you get kicked.
lets not indulge them further than we already are.
part of me wishes blizzard somehow found a way to ban the use of WCL. you would see a fundamental change in behavior overnight.
Why are you even raiding with such a psycho?
The problem in your scenario is 100% the raid leader and 0% the training dummy.
They could just remove the option “advanced combat logging” but i think WCL is an important part of raiding for many people
well, i’m not anymore.
i ended up in his guild because my friend group guild merged with his.
without us they would still be progressing in uldaur to this day.
as my friends slowly dropped out one by one we started wiping more and more in uldaur so many dumb ninjapulls you can’t even imagine and this guy completely ignores that and instead gets on my case for not pulling off thee perfect UH dk rotation with flawless snapshots etc.
just awful.
So you could easy agree now that the problem is not the existence of training dummies, the problem is the existence of this kind of persons.
i suppose. i don’t really care tbh. next time someone tells me to get on a dummy im gonna do what i did last time.
we have training dummies now? fly to tanaris, ride for 3 mins - voila!
those are immune to spell damage
they’re only good for testing auto attack and physical yellow attacks.
they’re also level 1 so i dunno…
Ye, really handy to spam spells on target dummies and see “immune” on every school of magic.
Mr. <50 median Cognitive Capacities. Green logs IRL.
What a joker.
These “dummies” are complete trash for serious testing. 50% of abilities in the game are not useable on them and you have like 20% extra crit chance on them because they are level 1
