Suggestions for Forum Abilities/Functions

Yeah it is so annoying when people use alts on the forum…

For the problems they bring in this system, I don’t think it’s worth it.

Replying to their own topics, themselves etc, multiple reports, general character hopping, memeing other players, the list goes on

One day I’ll fool you all with an originally named alt

I am in no way telling you what to do, but just some friendly advice, Sayrafen won’t work - tried doing an alt of mine with name backwards, guildies recognised me straight away

Proper Moderation.

This ^^

Also an ignore feature that works

Also TL3 should have been for all and THEN you lose it .

TL2 should have more sites added to it like linking to ICYVEINS and MMO .

Great post btw Emje we need more fun light hearted things .

Completely agree and I think it would limit some of the trolling we get on the forums from certain people. Would make moderation easier from Blizzard’s perspective, surely?

Simple Fix

  1. Get rid of “Likes” for the same reason why you can’t dislike a post.

  2. Get rid of MVPs, I still don’t know exactly what they do.

  3. If you flag a post and the post doesn’t break ToS, your account shouldn’t be able to flag posts for 24hrs…

  4. When you ignore someone, not only should you not be able to see their post but they shouldn’t be able to see that you made a post.

Good idea, it would cut down on the flags.

Not sure if this can work to be fair, so lets say you ignore me and can’t see my posts, that doesn’t mean I would have ignored you, in truth I would not know that you had ignored me.

Although I do think the ignore system could do with some work

I’m sure it would cut down their workload.

I would like the ability to like a post Emje made… Twice!

You don’t exist to them and they don’t exist to you is the effect I was going for which is the point of the ignore feature.

If we can pick and choose who can see our post it would result in less arguments on forums.

Speaking of the IGNORE function, would be nice if there was a permanent option and not it getting lifted at most after 2 months. I don’t care for annoying trolls, ever… and have it account-wide.

You can if you change to another character :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d like accountwide trustlevel.

Accountwide ignore and an ignore that actually hides everything from the user on ignore. If i wanna see their posts i will have to remove them from ignore.

No flagging on alts (account wide flags?). Also wish ppl used the flag/report system correctly. Its not a downvote, its to highlight posts that needs moderation for the mods.

First of all, an excellent topic for the forums and one I really hope the mods will take a look at (for positive reasons)

I’s like to see the binning of having multiple chars we can post on. We’re not posting as a Tauren Druid or Gnome Warlock, we’re posting as the player (There are those that post on alternative chars for RP and other less savoury means), Lets see us posting on our Battlenet tags, or even create a Forum identity that’s for the account.

I’d like to see more transparency when we’re advised of our posts being flagged (like which post was it) and a ban if appropriate (I understand the reason for the ban isn’t always clear). The second point I’m not sure of, I’ve never been banned so don’t know what info is communicated from the mods so I may be wrong.

Another thing I’d like to see is the ability to preview our post as they would actually look when posted. The input area default is too small and when making a long post doesn’t fit the whole thing on screen an doesn’t represent the actual layout of the post as it will look. I know you can adjust the depth of the input box but I can’t see how you can adjust the width.

Yeah, sadly the only way to see your current trust level is to go to your summary page, replace /summary with .json and search for trust_level_. Whatever the highest number is will be your current trust level.
ie: https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/u/twiluna-argent-dawn.json

Not very intuitive…

You can just check your profile page to see what trust level you have. Regular is trust level 3. Member is trust level 2. And i dont remember what the trust level 1 rank was… but just check your profile summary, it tells you (in a weird way).

I’d wish there was a tracker though to show you what u are lacking for next trust level.

OHHH that’s much easier, thanks!

Unless I’m the forum’s chosen one and wield the Ignorehammer of Justice™, there is a permanent option now. At least if you add users to your ignore list via your profile:

As for features that I’d like adding… I’d like quotes of people that I’ve ignored to be hidden. And account wide trust levels, for I would like to switch to one of my trolls and I am too lazy to grind the silly thing back out.

Oh nice, i have that option aswell now (think it was 6 months before). There has been talk about the ignore length being tied to trust level earlier, will have to investigate it. If it os thats just silly.
