I am not sure how it would work, but what you say definitely makes sense, it is the person that is the ‘guide’ so yeah I agree it should be account wide and not based on a single character
I agree with all of that but, ironically, to show that I do, I had to “like” it. I think liking is probably the most likely to stick around because it gives an indication of people’s agreement without having to post.
I agree Garaidh, I tend to put likes on things for different reasons, sometimes a poster has said what I would have myself so I just pop a like on their post. Sometimes I like what they have said but also want to add something myself (again I still pop a like). And sometimes you find that post that makes you laugh out loud, always for me deserving of a like
Although I can see why others may not like this function.
Something else I’d like to see/do is the ability for me to assign my own personal trust level to other posters.
There are several posters here that make posts that are worthwhile reading in so far as they make interesting suggestions or comments, say stuff that I find funny or come up with topics that I have an interest in and would most likely want to add a comment or two myself.
Maybe have a marker against their post so they’re easier to find.
Interesting idea, so instead of a bookmark just for a thread you are interested in, a type of bookmark for those posters you like, something like a ‘follow’.
Sounds good to me
That sorta thing.
There’s one poster here who regularly makes comments that I find funny in a variety of threads and I won’t see those comments unless I’m actually reading the thread and happen to come across one,
Okay just remembered another one, the like option is something I love, but why is it restricted?
Why am I allowed x number of likes per day? If it’s a positive feedback, which it should be, why a limit.
I have seen a lot of great posts today which I have ‘liked’ and now I have run out of likes to give
I have a feeling it’s to kind of prevent friends from over liking each other’s posts and gaining the required amount of likes for TL3 artificially.
Considering you only need 30 it does seem a silly restriction imo though.
I once got 30 likes from random people for making up a silly lore story about sylvanas wanting a bee mount it isn’t hard to get those 30 likes so I doubt anyone would have a need of artificially boosting their like counter.
I would give you a like but I can’t
But yes I forgot the ‘likes’ are part of the TL3 farm.
Eh, the likes for TL3 is so easy to get compared to the visit 50 days in the last 100 days and the 20 k posts read so its kinda not any point in restricting it and u can still log alts to mass like friends if needed. Give us unlimited amount of likes
Agree to me it is a pointless restriction, I have TL3 so I am not farming for them anyway. The alt thing is something I never do, it’s just a personal preference for me, I keep to one character to post on the forums (except once but that was for a mog thread)
Yeah i stick to one character aswell, no need for more for me.
Edit: well except when i farmed TL3 on this, then i posted gifs with the lvl 10 sinaaki ofcourse.
The reason why Blizzard got rid of dislike is the same reason why they should get rid of likes.
For a distinction to be made, you just need one of them.
You don’t need to downvote someone’s picture on Instagram to make them feel bad, just not upvoting their picture has the same effect.
I agree, likes are here to stay but because of this…any controversial/troll threads/posts usually get the most traffic because it’s low hanging fruit, you can easily go in there and get likes for your post.
Players won’t post as much if likes are removed.
I hadn’t thought of it in that way, but yes it makes sense, if a poster thinks they have made a great post and it is ignored, or in the case of the forums doesn’t get any likes, then I can see that could make them feel bad. If they remove ‘likes’ from the grind for TL3 then I would say yes I agree with you.
Currently though if I see a post that I like or I think somebody has already said something which I agree with, I sometimes just pop a like on that post and make no comments myself. If there is no ‘like’ option, would I be more inclined to type a response? I’m not sure but I think maybe I might.
I’m not going for a long debate on right or wrong here Canabal, as this thread is here for us to give our views on the options we would like to see improved, I am just curious as to why you think people would post less?
What’s the point of posting pictures on Instagram if those pictures won’t be liked by others.
Ignore system is a must for anything, I just built my own for now and (ironically?) OP is hidden (topic title still shows though).
Money making, attention seeking, click baiting people…
I don’t care.
Why cares about this?
This forum aven after changes will be trash can because we are EU and not US.
