Somebody please explain to me, how to justify that nonsense, that warrior/paladin, being constantly punched in the face have “time” to hide their big axe on their backs and out of nowhere grab shield and mace and start defending themselves while on the same hand changing ring or trinket during the fight is considered to be OP and is not allowed.
Casters can’t even change stupid trinket or ring during the combat what is much more logical. But no, game designers considered that somehow to be unfair to change gear accordingly to the opponent. Only allmighty paladins and warriors can do that with all benefits coming from turning into tanks.
First of all this is pure-nonsense, second it destroys fair-play.
Don’t use argument that it is “fantasy game so no logic here at all”. Not true - there is logic in that you can’t change chest or boots during fight. I even accept that puting ring in a moment when opponent is polymorfed would have much more sense but could result in to big imbalance in effect.
But swaping weapons back and forth is stupid and again I say - purely unfair.
look - changing trinket or jewelery after the arena gates opens are considered to be OP and thus it’s not allowed by game designers.
Because you could carry few sets of items for different arena combinations, for example - for rouge/firemage you would go for max resi /survival + nice burst for other combination that require less resi you could swap rings into more pve hybrid style.
BUT IT IS NOT ALLOWED.
You can play only with gears you carried. But no no, paladins and warriors are special classes that can adjust gears to gameplay, when they see heavy mele burst class like rouge or feral they simply swap gear for max hp/def/resi/ selfheal - and slowly burst target down.
Like I’ve said, that generate imbalance, that’s why warrior/holy pala are S-Tier, cause they, if necessary, can turn into tank-mode, and if pressure drops, they swap gears to burst dps.
Rly you should do more pvp and then discuss with me cause you obviously lacks knowledge.
warrior full burst vs feral turned onto bear = dead bear.
ofc u can master kite selfheal but on the open field, well, warrior has always advantage, that’s why it’s S-tier class while feral - A-tier at best according to most of the lore found in internet.
You’re literally playing a mage which hard counters warriors, if you want to you can kite the warrior to death. Not sure why you’re even complaining about warriors being able to switch to 1h wep/shield KEK
i dueled as feral countless paladins. Those retri who don’t swap weapons during combat goes down to toilet and i am not even 30% below cap health. I simply burst them down.
But i dueled few retri who had Ulduar HM 1hd+shield, and it looks 180 degrees different, cause they mainly block all my burst on tank mode, and when my burst is off, they swap onto 2hd and finish me off. And i can do crap dps in bear and i never kite good paladin with HoF / bubble, repentance/hammer.
So, you’re basically saying that just because you can’t stand still and ‘‘burst’’ them down within seconds, they shouldn’t be allowed to switch to 1h/shield to survive your burst?
It’s pvp, not a raid where you just burst something down.
I’ve seen tons of ferals beat the crap out of paladins, even if they go defensive with 1h/shield. So either you’re doing something wrong, or they’re just better then you.
Syphnix you got some point, but thread was about thesis, that adjusting gear/skills accordingly to gameplay is unfair and generate imbalance.
Imagine that you as mage can turn 1 macro, and swap onto firemage. When you see your target is off intercept/charge you litteraly go for “max dps mode” and shred him in few seconds. On the other hand when you see fresh fast enemy, you use other macro and go for frostmage mode with tons of benefits coming from that pack of skills.
I agree here Rexven but even as tanky bear duel vs skilled rouge is very very equal and both classes have to rly push the limits to put other down.
If i win with rouge as feral I win by the lenght of the single hairs.
But if I duel prot/ret hybrid it feels like I’m hitting the wall, literally.

WOTLK has a fast phase in pvp. Use your cooldowns right and you’ll be in a huge advantage. 1 missplay can lead to you losing. That’s just how WOTLK is.

All classes in the game has defensive cooldowns. Warriors have the disadvantage of being perma kited, thus why warriors have the ability to use spellreflect, shield wall, swap to 1h/shield etc.
Its not swapping gear, its just 1peace. Most of warr damage comes from gear not weapon. Naked warrior with best weapon will hit like noodle, but geared one with lvl1 starting sword will still do solid damage. Notice how weapon tooltip says 300 damage but warr hits for 7k. Damage comes from other gear. To have to swap weapons AND STANCES to use your basic toolkit is annoying if anything
What are we going to do about druids randomly turning into unkillable bear, free healing, cant even be mana burned, 8brazilion armor, uncritable, 200%dodge …
I think druid should choose one form at the start of arena and not be able to swap - purely unfair

I play druid. I don’t have time to raid. Almost all my gear is pvpbased - arena or honor. only 1 trinket from PvE (greatness).
When i find and opponent which is same geared as I, but have option to swap onto ulduar HM mace/shield and use tank skills while I try burst it’s obvious, that his gear is giving him tons of advantage.
Simple as that. Perhaps if I could use shield +1hd as bear that would be more fair. But on this current phase it’s not.
Same goes to heals. PvP healer based can’t stand even 30% chance against healer with 5k gs hybrid pve/pvp. And that’s also unfair cause PvP shoud be PvP and PvE shoud remain PvE - that’s why resilience was invented what is a total joke since those kind of hybrid healers can heal indefenitely even with lower resi than their counterparts.
