I got two level 60 characters, one 60 alliance character on realm X and another 60 horde character on realm Y. My goal is to switch the realms between them so that my alliance character is on realm Y and my horde character is on realm X. Both servers are PvP servers so it is not possible to have both characters on the same realm.
Therefore if I delete my alliance character and transfer my horde character to the realm, half of the job is done. If I then wait 15 days and then delete my horde character and restore my alliance character I can transfer it to the desired realm. Then I only have to wait 15 more days in order to restore my horde character and the job will be done. Does anyone know if this will be possible or if this is against the rules and somewhat abusing the system?
Risky, would your deleted alliance char not just vanish once the horde has been transferred there? Try making a char on a server, delete it… make a horde then see what happens when you try to restore the deleted char. Or it just won’t allow you to transfer the horde to the server with the deleted. Or annoying and costly, just transfer the alliance to a random server, then move the horde, wait the time and re move the alliance to where you wanted it?
There is another way, use another name.
Perciesly that, or switch 1 account from server X to Z(allaince one)
The second one from Y to X (the horde one)
And than Z to Y that way you did’t delete anything.
So in total 30 days waiting for all that hustle? Just transfer your alliance character to another random realm meanwhile you transfer horde to desired realm and then transfer your alliance to your horde realm. You will pay extra transfer in this process but will be done quickly.
how does that help anything in the slightest?
My post was before he added the PvP stuff.
Don’t think you’d be able to.
Anyway, your best option is to transfer one of them to another PVP realm whilst you transfer one of them to you rmain realm.
The issue is that you can’t have both characters on a PvP realm at the same time because they are opposing factions. The name isn’t a concern OP mentioned.
I believe transfers have 90 days cooldown, so this method would be even slower. OP should contact support, I would post this question in the support forum and see where they redirect you.
I think the way you suggest would take 30 days to do and should work, as long as they are the only characters on the realms.
Delete Alliance
Transfer Horde
Delete Horde
Restore Alliance - 15 days
Transfer Alliance
Restore Horde - 15 days more.
Yeah I meant it exactly as you explained it here
Delete Alliance
Transfer Horde
Delete Horde
Restore Alliance - 15 days
Transfer Alliance
Restore Horde - 15 days more.
I put up a ticket regarding this and the GM gave me the following answer, confirming it that it will work.
I see that you’re having an interesting question! Correct, you should now be able to delete the Horde character on the realm, restore the Alliance one and get it transferred over to the realm you wanted. Note although that the desination realm also can’t have any Horde characters otherwise it won’t work. Also note that you would need to wait 15 days until you’re able to restore the Horde character.
