That’s old news. And it is a tweet taken out of context, where Patty tried to address the complaints that Sylvanas is pure evil (which she is). And since she works for Blizzard, of course she is not going to say that Sylvanas is evil, since that would make Blizzard look bad (their goal is to make Sylvanas morally grey, and they failed miserably).
I’d say a more relevant tweet is the one made by the Chinese VA of Sylvanas who, after voicing the latest CGI cinematic, was mad at the writers.
Not mad. Just mixed feelings.

To tell the truth, I don’t even care that much anymore. I am very interested in the lore as far as the Old Gods/Shadowlands storylines are concerned, but the faction war no longer interests me, since it’s just a repeat of MoP.
I don’t consider myself a Sylvanas hater. I mean, I do find her annoying, but I don’t really care that much anymore. I will say that I would be tempted to watch a redemption arc for her just to enjoy the salt. I know A LOT of people who would have a total breakdown if she got Kerrigan’d, and that would be very entertaining to watch! I mean, the story stopped being serious long ago, so we might as well have a laugh from it.

Well, it was obvious that Sylvanas is not evil from the very begining. But she’s not the type of leader I would follow IRL (but I do ingame).
Well she indeed is evil, I have no delusions about that. But from my Zandalari centric perspective I can’t allow peace for now. Also I spite Blizzard for recycling the Garrosh plot.

I have killed millions of beings in WoW near their mothers, their fathers, their kin, I have exterminated races and I have more blood on my hands than it’s even possible.
The only “peace” there has been, is the chance to live in areas in which you can’t be killed without attacking (and that was looong) ago. Contested areas have always had their bloodbaths.
If you remember, before arenas people were actively sneaking inside other faction cities and slaughtered endlessly.
I have even killed orcs, trolls, anything you can imagine, any race.
Oh, and I have killed nightelves.
At the same time, i have probably died hundreds of times.
So what exactly is your point? You mention a general sacrificing a few soldiers to end a war? Isn’t what they do anyway? I have shivers…
Player actions maybe are evil. Player does not care at all about the lives of anything in the world of warcraft. Maybe they even loathe each other. I doubt the general you mention did that because of spite or because she didn’t care. There was an objective at hand, a way to save more lives. This is what generals do, to be honest…

Sylvanas is not evil, it’s best what horde need for the win. And still is the only choice if don’t want to play in cooperation with alliance. True horde is now different, than Garrosh horde, but again represented by only the Warchief and the people. The people make difference now. The twist that will see from writers to rise so much hate versus Sylvanas with every cinematic and traitors in every move, just show how things need to be tuned and executed without traitors. Still waiting for that twist and I believe, that Sylvanas is right on every step she has done to both sides.
You can’t expect mercy or weakness from Sylvanas, she play on top of the edge, wich from her perspective is not evil at all and for the people that support her.

Considering how under her leadership the Horde almost lost the war in 8.2… Nope. And her brilliant plan to use the Blade of the Black Empire to even the odds almost resulted in the death of Nathanos, Theron, and Thalyssra, three of the major leaders of the Horde.

Genocide is bad when Sargeras, Arthas, Garrosh, Kil’jaeden, Archimonde, Azshara, N’Zoth, Malygos, Deathwing, etc. do it. But it’s fine when Sylvanas does it. Huh.

Well considering she has already recorded as a voice actor all the cinematics, cutscenes etc that are to come, I think she knows very well what will happen with Sylvannas duh?
And that makes her competent to evaluate the moral questions… how? We all know there is some stupid revelation about Sylvanas’ motivation coming. We kind of knew that from the start of the addon, if not before. A voice actor’s opinion about this revelation adds nothing at all.
