Taivan is EXTREMELY similar to Taiwan
Blizzard and NetEase are back in business
NetEase is Chinese (most likely in bed with the CCP)

I’m not saying more

please don’t ban me

Make him the biggest chonkiest boy again to reflect how he is ingame. Especially after the grind needed for him this is a huge disrespect.

I don’t post often, but I have to agree.

I’ve been playing more content across Dragonflight than I have all expansion, primarily because I wanted the goodest big boy Taivan, but the size change has demotivated me from continuing.

I really hope Blizzard reverses the change and makes him large again. I already have a number of large-ish wolf-esque mounts, and I don’t feel as though it’s as special a reward for all that’s required to achieve it.

Just putting my oar in and speaking up.

Haven’t had my mood ruined by a game change this severly in a while.
Cancelled my subscription for the first time in 15 years. Good job!

  • Make him bigger.
  • Make him run from in ‘off camera’ when summoned; like the dragonriding mounts
  • Have players use unique ‘hangin on for dear life’ riding animations.

You/Blizz need these anims for TWW dynamic ground mounts anyway.

I will chime in as well. One of the reasons i wanted this mount the most was for it’s size. The post made by Lusandra reflect very well my opinion as well: Taivan in-game is an abnormally large Bakar, and the mount should reflect that aspect as well. It’s also one of the points why people farmed him. It may not fly, but at least it was uniquely huge and with a specific model that’s not common.

Thus: I leave with this.

actually they do this quite often with different mounts. i saw atleast 2 another size reduces since shadowlands

Id downsize them too. or remove the ability to super enlarge themselves on a mount. Blizzard like to remove toys effects as soon as raiders scream that a toy is interfering with their gameplay. Do you remember the huge uproar over Hunters and super enlarged caterpillar pets and everyone complaining that the caterpillar was taking up too much screen leading to Blizzard downsizing them drastically? You’d be amazed how many hunters suddenly stopped using the caterpillar when the “fun” of deliberately interfering with another person’s gameplay was slapped down by Blizzard.

Brutosaur, Galleon’s mount. List is endless. in fact you don’t even need an oversized mount. Just turn yourself into Gamon. Activate super enlarge. Congratulations. You have filled everyone’s screen with yourself sitting on a house fly.

“FUN”

Clearly you didn’t read a single word I typed.

Yes.

You clearly haven’t been playing WoW as long as I have. I knew as soon as I saw it what would happen to it. It would be downsized because idiots just want to be idiots and annoy other people. A huge dog would be a godsend to these people. Don’t believe me?

Stand near the Great vault round about reset hour and count how many halfwits you’ll find oversizing themselves just to annoy other players.

Or if your memory is like mine, just remember idiots who would open a portal in Dragon Soul as Kalecgos opens his portal to the Eye and everyone suddenly finds themselves in Stormwind.

“Fun.”

Blizzard just said “we’ll ruin your little trolling moments kiddies.”

Nonsense. It would be still fluffy, still unique and people would still be motivated to get him if he was the size of a regular wolf. By your logic no one bothered going for the KorKron wolf because he wasn’t unique enough being the size of an elephant.

One wonders why. if your sole motivation was because it was “big” then you didn’t really want it in the first place.

And given the amount of stuff you have to do to get it, it’s not going to be flooding Valdraken is it?

But still.

Big dog that allows people to troll other players “FUN!!”

"Small dog with exact same model reduced to a size that will put off trollers. “OH MY GOD BLIZZARD WHY… WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY…!!!”

At least you’re not threatening to unsubscribe.

But like I keep saying. You want to blame someone for taivan getting a size reduction.

Don’t blame Blizzard. Don’t get your knickers in a bunch yelling to me about it.

Start blaming the idiots who will use the size purely to troll other players.

Because guys…

After a week of trolling. The forums would be filled with people complaining.
Blizzard would be trawling through a sea of tickets complaining.

And taivan would be downsized… Anyway.

Sooner or later. he would be downsized anyway.

So you would have wasted all that time, just to ignore that mount, over the most prettiest of peeves.

That he was now a regular size.

I hardly this change was because of ‘trolling’ something that doesn’t really work considering there are bigger mounts.

Same. I have 2 more achievements to get and now it’s like, meh. The whole questline was about him being a big gentle boi

Which does not make sense, since he is not a “regular wolf”.
Your “people troll with a big mount” argument does not make any sense.
There is a countless list of big mounts. IF, it was because 3 people complained they don’t have “fun” anymore, those countless list of big mounts would have been reduced aswell.

I highly doubt that anyone who farmed this massive achievment did it because its a great way to annoy people, if they could have just used another big mount.
Its just untrue.

Most likely the size reduction comes from the issues the model has and the massive clipping in the saddle. So it was the lazy way to “fix” the poorly work done here.
And if that is so, its even more horrible he got shrinked.

The size is part of his story, the size makes him special.

Bad move on their side. Who ever made that choice should be ashamed.

Has Blizzard given any official reason for why they butchered his size?

Blizzard actually have people “working” on ruining the players hard earned rewards instead of focusing of known bugs that affect and been affecting people’s game play for sometime now !

I don’t know who told you it was a good idea to reduce Taivan’s size at Blizzard and who actually took the decision to approve it, I’d imagine something along the lines :

  • Blizzard employee : “Boss ! we have some technical bugs caused by Taivan’s size in game, I will have to fix some things it should take a day max”
  • Blizzard supervisor : " one day ? nah just scale it down a bit, done, time is money ! who cares about the few players who actually bothered with the meta achievement, they will complain a bit then forget about it, get back to work ! "

If I were you Blizzard I’d fire them, all you accomplished was piss off the player base and lose potential subs with this awful awful move.

Hi Blizzard - I already put in nearly 100 hours towards the meta achievement, but will stop working towards the achievement and probably cancel my subscription for season 4 if the Taivan size reduction is not reverted. Thanks.

Are you telling us, we cannot have fun because of people?
The same people that ruined world quests, that demanded slow grinds for everything, the same people that promoted “alternative content” like Blunderstorm?

Those people?
