nop theny do not

If people die from overaggro, let them die.

I always did dungeons back in the original game using the following motto: You get aggro, you tank it. End of. Anyone not happy with that, may excuse themselves from the party.

1: Threat generation is completely different in Classic compared to retail.
2: Threat is harder to maintain if people go all out at the beginning.
3: Initial aggro matters.
4: CC should be applied before the pull.

treu most dont use it wich sad part make tank job only harder

Yes. Unlike retail, CC is important in Classic.

People will learn the hard way though. Just be patient and don’t let them ruin your experience . Alternatively, tell them before you start that you want some CC before pulls and tell the DPS (as well as healers aka NO BUBBLE ON PULL!) to hold until you have a firm hold over the mobs.

Include that in my list of tips that you tell any hunter to turn off their pets growl (taunt) before you start. If not, remove them from the party and look for someone else. You can also mention it in your recruitment message

I remember when you had that mage in your group who liked to rev up the good old pull Pyroblast pull while you were waiting for the healer to get his Mana back.

I really do think that something’s not right. I’ve grouped up with 3 different Warriors during questing so far, and with all three of them they could not control the threat. They’d get the first hits in on the mobs, I’d stand back, shield and throw a renew on the warrior and then whatever was attacking the warrior would swap to me. 9/10 times my Fade spell wouldn’t even reduce the aggro.
Maybe they weren’t high enough level to have any threat generating moves yet, but you woulda thought that their damage would be more threat than a shield and a renew :man_facepalming:

I still remember main-tanking in early TBC, was walking towards Gruul only to see an PoMPyro fly right past me. I let that Mage die, better learn the hard way.

But yeah. Classic tanking can be annoying if people have a Retail mindset.

I can only compare to private servers.

I think it’s more accurate. On private servers I would just use a cat pet as hunter and it could tank everything. My boar has two aggro abilities(no damaging ones yet, need to go find bite rank 3 but thats not the point) and I actually have to think about the damage i’m doing.

Its less of an issue in dungeons because there’s dps doing more threat than you. You just have to watch the tank get his butt kicked in the first 5 seconds of fights though

I’m tanking as druid. And I do have some “agro problems”, but mostly for 2 and more targets. As I know, this only low level problem and it should be easier to hold agro after 40lvl (at least for druid because of specific talents)

Just let the tank do and take some dmg for 5 sec. Also mark priorities helps, wg. Skull then x the diamond etc, so you all hit the same thing fast.

But sometimes you will crit hard and get agro, if your class can equip a shield make a macro and swap so you don’t get rekt till the tank can taunt.

Have a good one!

It’s very easy to keep aggro (as a warrior) run in, 1 sunder and a rend, shield block then revenge, and carry on sunder spamming, ez aggro.

This is the problem. The warriors weren’t the issue, as priest u NEVER throw shield on warriors, you are denying them to generate rage, and then they can’t use Heroic strike / Taunt and finally they lose agro and mobs go after you.

The best you can do as priest when you group up with melee is throwing downranked Lesser Heal, or if the tank is hard enough Heal Rank 1 (most efficiency mana spell before level 20). Renew is an expensive spell, use it out of battles while Spirit Tap is on or u are full mana.

That’s a horrible rule only enforced by horrible tanks. Everyone makes mistakes. That’s like if I as a healer said: “If anyone but the tank gets aggro, I only heal them til the tank regains said aggro”.

Taunt them off. Only enforce the rule if people keep being negligent to the problem and constantly takes aggro.
