I love tanking, but there’s no meaningful reward for spending 20–30 minutes helping someone through a key—or even longer when the group is struggling. I’ve done around 200 runs in +8 to +17 keys, and I’m already capped on crests. What am I supposed to do with more?
I’m not interested in pushing higher keys. That style is too competitive for me: every mistake can be costly, and playing a non-meta tank can make the experience harder. I’d rather help with keys at any level, but the game gives me little reason to spend my time doing that.
High keys also come with the expectation that you already know everything: every class’s cooldowns, every dungeon in depth, and every route. If something gets pulled unexpectedly, you’re expected to adjust the route on the spot. How am I supposed to learn when everyone expects me to know it all already?
YouTube guides don’t always help. They can be 20 minutes long, and I’d find a clear map or addon much easier to follow—something visual that shows the route and helps you adapt when things go wrong. I can’t memorize all eight dungeon routes and every possible adjustment. I can barely take my eyes off my action bars long enough to notice when an ability lights up. ![]()
Please offer a reward that supports character progression and makes helping feel worthwhile. And once again, I don’t play this game for transmogs or housing. I’ve visited my house only once, for a quest. Pet battles, housing and transmog have no value to me. Surely there’s a way to recognize players who are willing to tank for others.
