So I was doing TOS9 with my low 455 resto shaman. 3 dps joined as single group ilvl 475.
Looking good so far.
450 brm monk came. His ilvl was 450. Thought he looks good and I invited him.
That was my worst decision in 8.3
That idiot used to do the most unusual pulls I see, like he went to right side instead of let… And then he did not understand affixes!! It is frigging teaming week and he would go and pull 2 teemed packs at once.
What made it worst
Aggro all over our faces
I used my CD to the best I can. He died so quickly I couldn’t even surge heal him even though I was spam casting it when I saw that teeming pull.
Anyways quick wipe. I tried to remain positive because the dps took down most of these packs so we are not wiping again . I stayed calm Even though I felt I was getting hemorrhoids as I was holding my rage.
We made it to first boss… Then that idiot tank goes and try to clean the room. Saying it is good boss strategy.
Again we wiped… Dps rage quit shouting at me for bad skills healer.
I am shocked…
Please tanks if you are learning use your frigging key. My time got wasted.!

Makes zero sense to me. His key, your key, it’s a 9. Him wanting to clear the room is irrelevant to you dying or not. It’s not needed but it’s really not a big deal.
Sh*t happens, at whatever key level, while I agree that as a tank I try to “learn” on my keys, as Lepanto said, pick yourself and move on, you’ll always get bad players sometimes in pugs. Just keep at it and if you’re on tilt, take a breather for an hour or two.
The addon is an option. The second option is to join a guild with like-minded people. It will take some effort for sure, but its worth it for less stressful gaming.
That happens when you watch how everything goes down the drain without writing a thing~ you even tried to talk or just hided in corner praying that something will miraculously change?
My Hunter’s +10 Shrine key just depleted with by a Holy Priest (both RIO and ilvl acceptable) who did pretty much no healing and then leaves when people died because of this.
The biggest problem is that once the key starts, all of the niceness that was there in the group forming process mostly goes down the drain. People pick at each other and no one wants to communicate due to how a lot of players just react badly to everything even if its friendly advice.
From all different roles, tank is usualy the one that ruin least keys imo, and i played all three roles.
To OP, maybe next time post or explain your route to him/them. So many times i join as tank, i post rotue, people agree with it and then midrun they complain why i did pull X ibstead of Y, so comunication is key.
Also u had 3x 475 and 450 tank, ofc he cant hold agro wtf were u thinking? And with 3x 475 DD in group u can most likely finish +9 even without tank…
There is no guarantee when playing with PuGs but addons like raider io can at least give you some idea of other players’ experience.
There is a desktop version or you can just use the addon from the twitchclient
When people apply to your group you’ll be able to see their score, and specific experience in the dungeon they are applying to, as well as how many timed keys they’ve done in certain brackets.
There are also various communities you can join to do keys with. Personally I find friends and guildies best.
Maybe you should consider a server transfer as an investment. You are on a dead realm as you put it. Whats the point? A realm with higher population gives you more choice in finding the right guild. In the right guild you are more likely having more fun.
You could also try start your own guild on your server. Even if its dead, there might be a bunch of people there who wants to run keys with less stress. Maybe that should be your first option, and then if it doesn’t work out, do a few hours of overtime at work or something to earn a bit extra, send the wife to a spa and get yourself a server transfer.
I’m very disappointed every time some person would rather direct a player to spending gold than simply doing something themselves. I think it’s disgusting behaviour to push anyone towards boosting.
Anyone can build up their own score. No one needs to be boosted through +15s on their freshly dinged character. If someone wishes to take that route then that is their choice but when someone is seeking advice it’s totally the wrong thing to suggest.
Building a score is very simple. Get your key, push it as far as you can. Build up a score for each dungeon, then try to improve on every dungeon you have run. Guilds and communities can give you access to other players and friends are also great to run mythic plus with. There is always the option to PuG but experiences do vary.
