Tanks problems

Dear Blizzard, do something about the tanks in Mythic+!
It’s a big pain until you find a tank! I don’t know what’s going on!

Like what, they gonna force recruit all tanks with the local “sign here to tank, you know you want it.”?

Tanks already did their M+ and don’t wanna tank anymore. For more info see this comic:

your sarcasm is not appropriate!
so you want to stop m+?
to stop playing the game?

If you play class with a tank spec it’s your duty to play it.

So…why dont YOU play a tank?

Could any of the reasons why you don’t maybe, perhaps, coincidentally be the reason, why others don’t play it either? Amongst other reasons such a pulling dps, bc they think the tank is too slow?

Frankly there is nothing blizzard could do, to ever get me to rejoin the “pug community” as a tank, as the reason i seized just about all my m+ activity precisely because i had plenty of interaction there, i would rather not have had and its just not worth my sanity to subject myself to it
Same goes for the buddy i am playing with these days. we both love playing tank. but neither of us wants to interact with pugs ever again

Not appropriate? Let me take a community suggestion then:

Be part of the solution. The Tank Role need you. Join the Tanks today.

I like to be healer!

Low level keys are not played simple.

There is just too few of us and we need too little from group content.

mp its not.

Yep, imagine playing a warrior dps xD

I mean, you can play what you want.

Just remember:

If you play a class with TANK/HEAL/DPS spec,
and you intentionally hinder yourself by only playing DPS and being disappointed that nobody invites you, that’s on you.
You’re supposed to play the whole class, not just one aspect of it.

And if you learn how to play your class not just spec and you can switch on demand, your m+ experience is going to be much easier and you will get much more loot

Ill stop you right there.
You are not supposed to do ANYTHING

The game offers the option to you. It’s a choice, not some kind of duty

may I add that no tank likes to tank for clueless noobs. so if you plan to keep dpsing then learn your rotation and the dungeons too!

If this is addressed to me, then I mainly play a healer! and you’ve told me enough about what role to play. Maybe there should be bonuses or something to encourage people to play as tanks!

20 years of getting people to play tanks didn’t really do anything on the overall scale. Not even bonuses, runes, gold.

Also, for obvious reasons you can’t give major bonus or gameplay loop change to the role that:

  1. Has the most power about controlling other players’ groups
  2. Has a very big overdemand and undersupply

What are these ‘obviously reasons’ that you can’t give bonus rewards to players taking on the tasks of playing the role with the ‘very big undersupply’ cause of? Cause I can’t seem to find any good reasons not to incentivize people to play the role which is in short supply

There already are bonuses for playing tank - both material (as gold, consumables etc.) and immaterial (easy access to whatever you want to do, basically almost no waiting time, very easy climb etc.). They are reasonable so that people are not abusing the role to the detriment of others.

Question is - what other rewards you would provide? Because those already present clearly are not enough.

And the mindset of tank community on average, for last 8 years, is that we are either the main characters of the story, unkillable titans - OR you others don’t get to play. I am not sure it is good idea to foster this mindset with slapping more rewards and more shortcuts.

now for 1) the rewards are rather useless lol. basically all jsut monetary value and …gold is one of the least problems anybody, who plays the game even just occassionally, should have.

What you can do is to go the ffxiv route: add achivements for tanking, that reward titles and mounts. 1000 “max level” dungeons tanked to completion, 100m+ finished as the tank bla yadda
thats most certainly more of an incentive than “hey you can go a heroic dungeon right now and at the end get a satchel, that holds the equivalent of 1000 gold”
