Is there a macro that in effect just pushes the enter key (which opens say) an then writes /target (with one space after target) and thus you just have to write name of target manually and push enter to target the named target (if target is in the vicinity) ?
As far as I can remember, you can ‘ENTER’-open chat and then click macro icon which immediately sends command to the console.
e: for ease of typing you could just type /tar “name”
Even if so that doesnt help me much.
What i want is a button(icon for the macro) on the screen i can push and then go directly writing name (or just start of it) and then push enter, and voila I have the desired thing targeted.
The macro would not do anything, since it has no target.

There’s probably no way to do it how you say. Maybe you could write a mouse-over target macro to cast ability without explicitly ‘clicking’ on a target, but it all depends on what you actually want to do with the target anyway.
Its for PvE. In Pve you encounter so many different mobs and their names. Sometimes you dont even know if they are there, hence the blank-name target macro Im seeking.
Alternatively, is there a target macro that self clicks every 10-20 seconds ?
Example
/tar fen dweller [no dead]
you can then run around the wetlands spamming this button and it will target any fen dweller (that isnt dead) within your range and direction of sight.
As for a macro that self clicks that is a no as i’m pretty sure it would count as botting.
You can simply change it to /tar toxic horror (or whetever the name is) when you’re after a different target.
Make this macro and simply place it on your action bars and you are able to go back into your macro’s and edit it anytime you want a different target.
You’re better off just telling us what your actually trying to target so someone can write a nice neat macro for you.
