if there not implementing the vendor for corruption, then the reason for it is probably the communities concerns… There probably enabling your mains chance to gather some echoes up before putting the vendor items in place.
At the end of the day, blizzard won’t win with systems they implement… People just need to raise concerns and hope they listen to what you’re all saying. You all have valid points about RNG, mains losing out, etc…
Also not sure whether this is a bug, but I did purchase rank 3 essence on my only tank alt and i didn’t meet the requirements said essence, so id advise check it out. Doesn’t mean you’re main can get it if its another tank alt, etc… but yeah
Not quite. It’s not how that works.
If I remove TD, for example, I’ll build my character on something else than stacking haste and versatility. I’ll go back to versa/mastery. And by doing so, I’d only lose 10% of my overall damage.
When you look at logs and see “wow that TD is dealing 40% of his damage!!” what you’re missing is that at the same time all the other sources of damage (especially class abilities) deal much less damage.
So, when you build your character over TD, you’re basically trading a lot of your class damage for random procs.
But you could very well build a toon on improving class damage and be a king aswell. It’s just less common because it’s less visible on the logs, therefore less popular.
One of the HUGE issue corrupted gear created is the optimization nightmare it is. Right now, we only have simulation craft to help us decide “objectively” (lol on that one) which gear is best for you for a given situation. But there are limits to computational power and simc is relatively badly designed, imo. But that’s all what we have, right now. Beside thinking by yourself, understanding that this does that, etc…
Some players have stacked on haste/crit build and are dealing as much if not more dps than TD build.
Never said you were lazy. I only said that it’s not surprising that someone playing a lot more than someone else gets more corrupted items.
Yep. Pretty much like this 15k headstart on echoes for some people is not really a community problem. It’s not even your problem. It’s not even a problem, as I already explained.
The problem is that some people have their corruptions. And some don’t. And Blizzard can’t really give them away for free, just like that, because some people ask them to do that. It won’t happen.
If it did… lol… What a mess that would be. Why would many people would continue playing ? It’s the last patch of BFA. They would just cancel until SL hit, since your character would basically be “instantly geared for good until SL”.
Real problem is that corruptions created way more problems than it solved.
But that was not to put everyone on an equal playing field, dude.
If at the beginning of S4, players could have bought 480 azerite gear day one, then what’s the point of azerite gear ?
Yeah this is why for example BM hunters run crit corruptions
And allthough i dislike it i never got anything damage-corruption, i am not really complaining about my ‘lots of stats’ build myself either. With void ritual R3 and crit corruptions.
Supposedly azerite gear was to offer traits that enanche your spec experience, like an additional talent system.
In reality was a total fiasco, with traits terribly balanced to the point that 1 or 2 out of the lot are mandatory and the rest is rubbish, or traits mandatory just to have a flowing spec, like EP for ret paladins, aggravated by the fact that there was no reliable source for them until the vendor that is either 1) RNG 2) 10 weeks per item.
No you are not, even with the proper set up and class abilities and changing out TD proccs for secondary stats, no class has such powerful spells in their toolkit they will only lose 10% dmg overall.
Corruption proccs are way too strong and that isnt limited to only TD or IS proccs.
Yet, nothing in here says you get the right corrupted item.
I could play for 8 hours a week and be properly kitted out versus your 80 hours a week.
The RNG Is too big onto the whole system.
I explained this aswell, certain people werent even eligible for echoes and thus they are left out and are also in a bad spot with corruptions overall making the grind real and making sure they keep playing.
However you can still get the proper corruptions from other sources aswell.
They didnt want you to get S4 AP gear due to the strengths of the gear.
And yes, it was done to put people on an equal playing field because it was even listed in their post why they would do it.
If they would have reset echoes to 0, there would have been no need for these ridiculous prices for corruption effects and increased gains from the sources you get echoes from.
Start from 0 echoes:
1500 for Rank 3 TD procc would just take as long as the ‘‘new’’ inflated gains and costs.
I don’t see how 3 items that have massive implication in how our classes works will consitute a reason to not open a new raid tier.
We’re talking 3 slots, not every slot, no weapons, trinket etc. We’re talking items with traits that have been created alongside this poor everything on gcd class design.
Giving them with a proper vendor will hardly be game breaking.
Well there is no 100% solution which will satisfy absolutely…I repeat…ABSOLUTELY everyone.
Blizz can give out free no strings-attached gold bars and there will be always people who will complain that its too heavy.
Look at that on raidbots:
/simbot/report/7f6ybpPhd5MnNEuWCzRix5
The top is TD, the second has no TD and is only 9.9% behind.
And that would not solve your problem.
Right now there are:
(A) players who don’t need more corrupted items, like me, and are basically out of the problem.
(B) players who still need corrupted items and:
– (B1) have stocked some echoes
– (B2) don’t have any echoes (or very little)
As far as corrupted items are concerned, only B1 would be affected by a reset on echoes.
So, your idea basically is: “in order to make it fair for everyone who was not lucky, we need to make it so everyone who was not lucky have to wait even longer”.
Because otherwise, you know, people from B1 could get their corrupted item before B2 guys and B2 guys would feel somewhat unhappy, betrayed or idk, because they did not have their corruption as soon as B1 guys.
Blizzard should also include level 1 and 2 essences for 2500 each so players can collect missing essences and new 120s can start purchasing them after doing the initial essence quest.
Not everyone does PvP, raids, M+, etc…
Do you both understand the word “SAMPLE”? Meaning…NOT ALL are shown. Just an example and etc.
2nd. The corruptions will rotate twice a week. So you will be able to purchase your rank 1s of what ever…just depends if its available at the time or not.
After I thought about this from the logical perspective of blizzard entertainment, both answers have been easily found in a logical, explainable and understandable manner in relation to how blizzard operates as a company and the inherent greed of the human being.
They did not see this necessity at the start because they did not even test the system or the acquisition of corrupted items through this RNG method. As unquestionable proof stands the fact that the entire World of Warcraft team considered proc based corruptions as mediocre and % based corruptions as the very best.
This is obviously false as proc based corruptions are overwhelmingly best in slot with the exclusive exception where % proc corruptions cause game-breaking effects, such as fire mages stacking mastery % corruptions.
The very fact alone that they thought proc based corruptions such as Infinite Stars being mediocre is unquestionable to the fact that they did not test this system and did not put any thought to it on it’s release.
The second point is extremely simple to understand. Money.
To emphasize on what “Money” means in the second point, the way blizzard did this system was to manipulate the players who would otherwise cancel their subscriptions until Shadowlands to continue to remain subscribed to the game due to the hopes that one day the specific corruptions they want will become available in the “rotation” so they can use their saved up echoes in order to apply the corruption to their gear.
Such as Demon Hunters waiting specifically for Gushing Wounds, while Mages wait specifically for Mastery %.
The system was created in such a way that it’s also impossible to max out the corruptions on your gear from the first rotation including these corruptions due to lack of echoes of ny’alotha.
This was made to maximize profit through any means necessary.
The echos change feels underwhelming, the essence cost should not change, it feels punishing for alts to have to pay 10K and missing 2/3 of the most costly corruption just for that…
The idea that many players will come to this patch and realise they’ve to get 2,5 K to get their essence now will feel very bad for them anyway… since not everyone come here.
The cloak is a good step but it’s not the only problem to get effective in visions… the titan tree momentos could have been nerfed a bit if the idea is to get an easier access for new players and alts while keeping the same prices for wrathion.
The cloak corruption catch up mechanic is again not adapted to new players despite you suggesting it’s done to help them?
Introducing vessels in direct competition with corruption doens’t feel good at all.
And Since the idea for shadowlands is focused a lot about “player choice” and you make a merchant cycling twice a week without every corruptions available ? Wasn’t there a better way to introduce it with more “player choice” ?
This goal you’re talking about is not achieved in what you presented me.
I’m doing 30-40 M+ a week, one 5mask and two 4mask Visions every week, doing both assaults and mini-assaults, clearing Nyalotha on 2 difficulty every week. So now I can finally buy my best in slot corruptions after 4 months of being unlucky with them…
Oh wait, I can’t, cuz I got all essences unlocked and some random alt will be 1 month ahead of me I hope you at least reset the currency for everyone
First, I was an idiot and bought that last Rank 3 tank essence over a month ago. Because why wouldn’t I? There was no other use for Echoes so why keep stockpiling them? WELL NOW I COULD HAVE 30K OF THEM INSTEAD OF THE 1.7K I HAVE RIGHT NOW. GREAT.
Which means, I’m back into the insane 24/7 grind just as I thought I could be done with that for the remainder of the expansion. There are other games I wanted to play, other hobbies to attend to. But now I need to farm ton of Echoes to be able to buy all the corruptions I will need.
And to even figure out what corruptions to buy, I likely need literal billions of iterations on Raidbots. With the cap of 300k iterations per sim, that is gonna take days.
