TBC 3v3 EU Gladiator Boosting

Alright, since season 1 just ended, I would like to talk about the ammount of boosting that has been going on in the EU 3v3 ladder.

First of all, according to the in-game billboard, there are #93 spots that are avaiable for gladiator.
Before going further into this, I think its really wierd that Blizzard doesn’t even have an own authentic ladder, like we had 15 years ago? Wierd.
However, according to ‘Ironforge.pro’ ‘Check-tbc’, where you are able to see teams, members, placing and rating - you can just check the top #93 teams daily.

If you are going through the ladder, there are approximately 10 teams that only contains 1 member. Those 10 teams have one thing in common, so to speak.
All the previous members consists of Xandyn-Gehennas and Zunni-Gehennas.
Now to the problem, where I think - effort, investigation and consequences should be taken.
What these players are doing is boosting ‘clients’ to gladiator in the 3v3 bracket. They are getting paid in gold. I have even been in contact with the players and pretending to be interested to see how they are doing their business.
So, they are getting paid in gold, which they are later selling for real-life money. Since blizzard seemingly doesnt want to handle the problem (or if its a grey zone, if its against ToS or not) I just have some questions.

First, why for the sake of God are you allowing a 3v3 team with only 1 member in the team to be eligible for a title? If a team should be eligible for a title, it should consist 3 members that are all within the required rating.
Now, for example: If someone leaves the team, and there are less than 2 team members that doesnt have the rating requirement for the title. The team should be non-eligible.
If you can’t keep this in controll, implement personal rating. Like there is in retail, and give players title on a %-based ladder.

Next. I have been a paying customer of your services since almost 15 years now.
I have been playing WoW-arena since TBC, by that I can tell I’m speaking for experience.
So, regarding the gameplay of the boosts.
What you first are offered when you are buying the boost is that you are playing your own character. In other words “selfplay”.
However, if this turns out not working out, and the boost isn’t going as well as Xandyn and Zunni likes will say, so called ‘changes’ will be made.
From here, they are taking control of the ‘clients’ character and doing a non-selfplay boost anymore.
I have been facing Xandyn and Zunni for weeks on the ladder, with different ‘clients’ that have paid a boost, night time, day time, mid day, early evening - you name it. Most of their clients are rogues, however, the difference in terms of gameplay from the ‘client’ are selfplaying vs. when it is played from another booster is absolutely ridicoulus.
You can clearly tell the difference from game to game. It is like having Leo Messi playing in disguise for your local town football team.

Next up, regarding this problem. Isn’t it ANYTHING that blizzard can do against this? There must be a way to check IP-adress and from where the characters are being logged in from, and from what PC etc.

This is HURTING the ladder, and all of the players that are playing the game, and are fighting on the ladder. It’s an absolute DISGRACE. Well tbh, I hadnt excpected more from these players anyways.

Those players (Xandyn and Zunni) are taking away up to 10 spots for people on the 3v3 ladder, paying customers, that fighting hard for Gladiator spots. It’s unfair and it’s disgusting.
There must be something that can be done against this boosting for the upcoming season 2.

so if 3x players played for glad & later before season end? someone left team for what ever reason “deleted char or left server” the other 2 shouldn’t get it? this is just retarded idea.

“like there is in retail” > then go play retail xD

if they are just boosting without taking someone’s account? then it’s not against Rules, you can’t just assume that they’re taking irl money for it or playing on the boosted account, But anyway nothing is fair in this game, if you can’t get glad cus boosters win vs you? then buy a boost or maybe just quit.

That’s why I wrote “If there are less than 2 team members” If you would’ve bothered to read.

I already play retail, what point are you trying to make?

As I wrote, Ive already been in contact with them, and I pretended the be a so called ‘client’ so I know how they are doing the boost. They are indeed doing it for in-game gold. Which they are later selling for real life currency. If im not assuming, this could be a very interesting case for Blizzard to investigate in however. If it’s the case, it’s not allowed, and blizzard can just check bank transactions, which can be very doable since the paid subscription is connected to your battle.net account.

I got glad in 3v3 EU, and Im a retail multigladiator. Im just wondering what does it even have to do with anything? Do you mean that you can’t have an opinion, or that you should just ‘buy a boost or maybe quit’ if you dont have a title?

it’s well known that people are buying all type of boosts, if leveling or raid items or arena boosts or whatsoever boost! if boosters are boosting for gold? that doesn’t mean that they’re selling the gold! and even if they are? there are too many ways to deliver the gold to buyers and blizzard can’t ban someone assuming that he took irl cash for giving another player some gold!

if they directly sell service for cash, there is no way blizzard could know, since there are alot of online options to receive the money from client & that doesn’t mean same payment is used for wow subs, i personally use timed virtual cc to pay for my wow, that cc doesn’t have any real info about me and can’t be used for receiving, so even if they’re boosting for cash, there will not be any evidence about that.

me saying buy boost or quit? was just sarcasm, because if you’re qualified to get glad? boosters shouldn’t be in your way! Just beat them & get it.

people playing tbc for tbc features, you can’t just ask for retail feature like “personal rating” & even if blizz disqualified teams from getting glad if there is only 1 player in that team? boosters will easily dodge that by having multi characters to use and still sell boosts, meanwhile there is no rule saying that a player must play only in 1team in the season! or play 1char in the season! & there is no rules to prevent players from selling in-game service for game currency!

anyway let me tell you that i’ve seen many rising a fist against gladiator boosts 14years ago, & this is why blizzard made the personal rating in later expansion but glad boost still exist because booster taking your account, speaking of boosters talking accounts? do you know that there are hundred of thousands retail player that share accounts? if with friends or through 3rd party to hire someone to farm for them old transomg/mounts/pet on all characters, that’s the top selling service in 3rd party sites, so if blizzard will ban anyone who share accounts? this game will drop to half it’s current subs, TBH there is no solution for all the ugly issue’s in wow! if it’s retail or classic so either you live with them or quit.

They can, but they won’t. They don’t seem to want to ban hackers, bots, gold buyers or gold sellers either, so blizzard not being willing to ban somone doesn’t mean much.

so if i just opened trade & whispered a random in town “you look cute, here is a gift” & give him 5k gold? blizzard should ban me assuming that I’m selling gold? wth? I’m free to give any player any gold anytime and consider it charity

or if i bought something from ah for 5k gold? or keep failing for those over priced useless items on ah? am i getting banned for being accused of selling gold? it can be miss click or cus i’m drunk!

Yes, but they won’t.

Blizzard is also free to ban you for absolutely no reason at all.

No you are not, but you should.

Honestly they should just remove the titles if people are boosting them. They need to work on making arena appeal to a broader player base, not maintaing the elitist aspects. There’s plenty of open issues that affect way more than 63 players.

stopped reading there. such nonsense lol.

No one plays nor pays for the gladiator title… they simply want the mount.

I mean s1 glad ratings are a joke anyway. Theres apptly 93 glad spots, you wna know how many actual glad players there are in the world? (rather than 3x93 = 279). Id guess mayby 100, 130? If were lucky.

Even the 15year tbc private server vets who arent paid boosting (and they almost all are) are holding up several team spots on their alts because they have nothing better to do.

Then remove the mounts. Whatever. My point is that they shouldn’t be spending effort on looking at something that only affects a handful of players when there’s much larger issues for them to address.

And that is just 3s. Just check 5v5 ladder, Beef Bar literally flying people like Aziegodx, Mirok etc to Abu Dhabi so they can pilot boost freely without the fear of IP / MAC address ban. This is not even a secret. They did the same thing during classic r14 farm.

I mean this is the whole reason why retail has flat 2400 + 50wins glad cutoff now. Because Blizzard cba manually monitoring boosts going on in Arenas. I only expect this to get worse in upcoming seasons, causing most people that could have gotten glad this season to quit.

why would u think blizzard cares even a little bit? in oce servers 4 people fixed the whole 2vs2 glad range, all 17 spots for money, and blizz didnt care. they wont care for 10 spots in eu either, and to be honest the only one likely to get a ban here is you for naming the actual chaters sadly

They outright need to ban 9 0% of r1’s that coach for gold, and boosting and theny need to revoke boost for gold rule.
fix the game in no time.

All this is true, played enough this season to see it all myself, but bro just give up, it’s over. Arena died in WoD when subs dropped abysmally low, and right now it’s low too, combine that with how few people play arena from that already low number, you have one dead uncompetitive scene. Teams starting at 0 rating, dog$h1t random MMR system that just inflates, no honor gear to farm unless u no life, arena gear way too expensive considering this season lasted 12 weeks LULW and then all these boosts of course no one will play. It won’t get fixed. I’ll have sex with a moleman in the sewers if i see a blue post replying here with a clear answer/solution and not the usual vague crap.

Let it die mate, it’s over, unsub.

The system is perfect as it is and everyone complaining here is just bad AF so they want mommy to fix things for them. Why should we trust Actiblizz to not fck up the system even more by introducing draconian changes. Leave it be.

The thing that needs focus from Actiblizz is low PVP participation and broken systems as Xena pointed out, so less costs on arena gear/honor gear etc and fix systems. It seems that Actiblizz has addressed that at least.

If you can’t get glad against boosters then maybe the problem is with you.

Also Richdude you sound like a sad human being for wanting innocent people to get banned, go in a corner and think about your life mate, you need help bro =)

Why is it nonsense? Isn’t it a good solution to prevent boosting? If not, please enlighten us with your suggestion.

How one could possibly come to this conclusion is beyond me

You don’t think there’s a problem if characters played by the top 0.1% of players actually occupy top 0.5% of teams (obviously it’s not quite that bad in reality, but the logic stands)?

That would mean glad is actually top 0.1% and not 0.5%, which is a problem
