TBC Boosted Weapons are Game breaking for the 59 bracket

They vanished overnight, because twink-pvp was and is always and mostly about “stomping people”.

I created several pvp twinks over the years (no, I am not ashamed by that :sunglasses:) and I have NEVER done so to engage in “honorable combat with like mindet players in this very special lowlevel setting”, I did it because it’s fun to oneshot people with a lvl 29 rogue that is powered by 2k gold worth of equip, enchants and consumables :stuck_out_tongue:

So I should not do BGs with my 60 twinked mage with naxx BiS and engineering Because that makes me “terribad at pvp” and is worse then cancer.
Gtfo, increasing your characters power is what this game is about, just because someone choose not to level beyond a certain point doesn’t make them cancerous.
Look at retail and what happened when they scaled gear in PvP, everyone hated it, abused it and it got reverted.
Entitled fakking prick.

Now now petal, there’s no need for name-calling x

Totally different,

  • You’ve hit level cap and aren’t using your BiS forever gear against people 10 levels lower than you.

  • You had to engage in level appropriate group content to get your items, I assume you didn’t go there at a level you were unable to hit the mobs yourself, nor make any real contribution to the groups efforts?

  • You expect to engage in PVP against others with reasonable to good gear, you probably do not expect the chars you are fighting to be wearing items 20+ lower level than your chars level.

  • You expect people to have reasonable, level appropriate enchants on their gear that they can achieve using that char’s resources alone.

Also, I never said that it was worse than cancer. I said it is a cancer.

The fact that twinking died when it became a fair fight should tell you all you need to know.

I made several twinks too, but mostly healer twinks to deny rogues an hunters there fun

Isn’t that what current GDKP runs are for, as long as you got the gold you can netflix afk and just buy the bis items.

As opposed to the discord premades for pvp?

Since when has this ever been the case except at the start for fresh servers?

Kind of, but no. You see you might be being carried, but your char has the capacity to be useful there, that you don’t is down to your gear, not that you’re doing level inappropriate content, you might in both scenarios need what effectively amounts as boosting, but once your char gets that gear they’re able to assist.

That people have always done it, doesn’t mean that it is not a sucky experience for levelling characters that want to do a little PVP as they progress through the levels.

Again, if people weren’t doing it to feel artificially powerful it wouldn’t have died when they forced twinks to only be able to queue against other twinks.

AV is not a BG?

People who want to experience real competitive pvp probably don’t play wow.
PvP in MMORPG is so unbalanced but that’s why it’s fun. Even on Max level, sometimes i kill other level60 players and it feels like ganking a lowbie… It’s kinda the point of an MMORPG, try to get the most imbalanced character ever, then roflstomp some other players and yell in voice chat " lol look at me, i am owning".

Paladin in classic is so great. On reason is the amount of horde rogues/warriors, paladins are so good vs those classes. It’s also fun because it’s kinda hard to be a killer as a paladin because almost everyone has good chances of escaping/running away to safety. You have to bait them, provoke them so that they really want to kill you but then they get themselves killed ^^ One gets to witness so many bad rogues its so funny…

So 30% of your little guild made up 100% on an entire community? Please.

All the less popular brackets died and the only ones that remained were 19 and 29. Why? Not because twinks only wanted to fight other twinks at all.

It was because there weren’t enough twinks to get regular battlegrounds going. Queues only popped at prime time, and for a short while the queues were broken entirely and didn’t pop at all.

Remember, retail at the time didn’t have a mega server for PVP like Classic does, battlegrounds were still split into battlegroups. So the already small twinking community was spread thin across multiple servers, unable to play together.

No, not at all.

Twinks fight people the same level as them. Some often fight people higher level. My old lvl60 guildies used to love playing in the 69 bracket.

Laughs in GDKP runs Twinks put more effort into their gear than a lot of lvl60 toons that I’ve seen. Poor argument.

Not actually true. There’s currently more twinked characters in the lower brackets than non twinked characters.

And that’s your worst argument to date.

Enchants are dirt cheap, you can get them at low levels just by knowing how much things are worth. You could afford a few enchants just by selling the light feathers you gain from levelling. You can grab herbalism and sell Swiftthistle that you get whilst levelling.

“Low levels don’t know how to farm gold!!!” is NOT a valid argument.

Except, it doesn’t. Because you people are completely forgetting how battlegroups worked in WoTLK.

Not that I care at all, but it wouldn’t hurt them to nerf the boosted gear a little since currently they are entering outlands with a much better gearset than your average 58 and that is entirely unnecessary.

Better still, just remove the boost from the game.

What an impressive counter-argument. I am amazed, flabbergasted even.

Perhaps read the rest of my post, rather than only the part dedicated solely to you?

I could have written why you were wrong, but then I’d just be repeating what I said to Donaldtusk in literally the exact same post.

Is context really so lost on you?

I’m familiar with you, you needn’t bother answering.

I read your answers, my question remained, in my opinion, unanswered however.

…is not an answer to the question, it’s just stating a fact. Yes, this is what happened, but the question was WHY there suddenly weren’t enough twinks willing to queue any more.

:sunglasses:

It’s almost like the idea of PVP against other well geared players for some reason wasn’t as appealing.

I don’t believe that it will be a problem at all. Boosted characters should be at TBC servers only. And if you are willing to pay let say 30 euros for this service you won’t waste much time on battlegrounds or classic maps and you will go directly to Hellfire peninsula map, where you will get plenty of much better uncommon items right away.

There never was in the first place. The twinking community was always small and it was spread thin across multiple servers.

Suddenly, games can ONLY be filled with twinks, so twice the amount of normal are needed. And on top of that, they HAVE to be playing at the same time.

Furthermore, one realm might have 12 twinks and another might have 15. Those realms would be in separate battlegroups and wouldn’t have been in the same queue.

The twinking community didn’t die because people thought “game over bois, can’t kill newbs any more”. Those people still could, and still can. You vindicitve people are so focused upon your morality that you completely ignored the throw-away twink. The characters that could still instagib lowbies that were now at the top of the food chain, because they were no more BiS twinks to kill them.

That’s because you’re seeking validation and not an answer. I offer the latter, not the former. You got an answer, you just didn’t get the one you wanted because you expect everybody here to share your little world view.

I expect this level of idiocy from Sorzza, but I thought you were at least capable of reading.

Colour me disappointed.

So when TBC originally was released how did fresh lvl 58s complete HFP content? Since, gimme a minute, apparently HFP penninsula that was released something like 12 years ago? Was balanced with these items in mind.

They were expected to have reasonable gear, anyone that has tried to jump through the Dark Portal in poor gear knows it can be unforgiving, many people stay in the old world till 60 before jumping into TBC because of this.

I mis-typed above, I meant to suggest that the chars are balanced around being able to complete Hellfire Peninsular, not the other way round.
