With the likely future announcement for TBC Classic i’d like to way in my opinion regarding pre-patching, the new races and paladin/shaman avaliability.
Frankly no one knows how Blizzard chooses to move forward with the potential release of TBC Classic servers. (I’m not even sure Blizzard knows at this point).
But, excluding my own thoughts and wishes, i foresee that the most likely scenarios would be either the progression of current servers to TBC, with the option to transfer to a classic vanilla server.
Or a continuation of the current classic vanilla server, with an option to transfer your character(s) to a TBC server.
In either way, a server progression to TBC will probably include a certain amount of time with a TBC pre-patch.
My plea to the devs is that during this prepatch they unlock the option to create and level Blood Elves and Draenei characters, including both the shaman for alliance and the paladin for horde.
With the current speed of progression in vanilla classic, which certainly will continue if not increase in TBC, i fear that starting a character at level 1 while the rest of the population progress through Outlands will leave the fresh characters unnecessarily far behind in terms of finding guilds, raid teams, dungeon groups, etc.
Furthermore i see no potential downside with giving people this option, and thus denying them it makes little sence in my opinion.
Obviously i am not completely objective in my opinion on this matter, and i gladly admit that my current consideration of rerolling in TBC does indeed color the content of this post.
Feel free to leave a reply if you believe my plea is wrong, preferably with an argument as to why.
Or leave a comment with your support if you agree that this is a good idea.
In closing, a reply from one of the blues, even if just to state that while nothing is decided this is definately on the table would be greatly appreciated.
