TBC Classic: Pre-Patch & new races/classes

With the likely future announcement for TBC Classic i’d like to way in my opinion regarding pre-patching, the new races and paladin/shaman avaliability.

Frankly no one knows how Blizzard chooses to move forward with the potential release of TBC Classic servers. (I’m not even sure Blizzard knows at this point).

But, excluding my own thoughts and wishes, i foresee that the most likely scenarios would be either the progression of current servers to TBC, with the option to transfer to a classic vanilla server.
Or a continuation of the current classic vanilla server, with an option to transfer your character(s) to a TBC server.

In either way, a server progression to TBC will probably include a certain amount of time with a TBC pre-patch.

My plea to the devs is that during this prepatch they unlock the option to create and level Blood Elves and Draenei characters, including both the shaman for alliance and the paladin for horde.

With the current speed of progression in vanilla classic, which certainly will continue if not increase in TBC, i fear that starting a character at level 1 while the rest of the population progress through Outlands will leave the fresh characters unnecessarily far behind in terms of finding guilds, raid teams, dungeon groups, etc.
Furthermore i see no potential downside with giving people this option, and thus denying them it makes little sence in my opinion.

Obviously i am not completely objective in my opinion on this matter, and i gladly admit that my current consideration of rerolling in TBC does indeed color the content of this post.

Feel free to leave a reply if you believe my plea is wrong, preferably with an argument as to why.
Or leave a comment with your support if you agree that this is a good idea.

In closing, a reply from one of the blues, even if just to state that while nothing is decided this is definately on the table would be greatly appreciated.

Horde pala has a spot in end game raiding for all x3 roles and guilds WILL be wanting them so don’t worry!

I’m going Draenei shaman and I’m 100% fine with leveling from level 1 when TBC goes live.
It’s not a big deal. My guild will be ahead, but I’ll get there eventually and shamans will be in demand.
People seem to be really bothered by things slightly inconveniencing them. There are pros and cons with every decision and that’s what I like about old school WoW.
I will play a shaman because I want to and I’ll join up when I’m good and ready.

No thanks. We don’t need all the people rerolling draenei and blood elves swarming Hellfire Peninsula the moment the dark portal opens as well. There will be too many people there as it is.

Dranei and Blood Elfs was released with TBC. Doubt they will change that.

As much as I’d like to get going with my shaman and be part way to 60 when the portal opens, it’s not an issue if not.
There will be thousands of people rolling draenei and belf so you’ll get groups easy enough plus guild will help boost pala/shaman up to 70.
Gearing up after everyone else means you’ll get gear drops easier.
So dont panic, what you should ask is why isn’t it releasing already!

Oh yes. I shall return once more as Eldarim. And ill gladly level from scratch as TBC comes. No need to rush the release of my second coming.

Exactly this. If they unlock it earlier it will encourage even more people to reroll for belfs and that would be crazy…

The outland starting zones will be crowded af anyways - i don’t think that having Draenei and Bloodefls there as well will make a big difference. Dungeonsleveling is the way to go either way.

It doens’t matter so much for PvE players because it’s not an arms race between the players but for PvP players it is.
Hitting 70 early and having time to gear up will provide a good advantage for playing arena. Getting 70 late and facing fully pvp geared players already at 1500 rating might be frustrating ^^

This argument with pvp is valid, I understand. But having 90% or horde Blood Elves is worse in my opinion. And if you allow people to pre-level, then we can expect this. Looks at your self, already posting with Blood Elf Paladin character. It will be hell even without letting people to level in advance.

honestly i just randomly picked a char that was available to post for the forums… don’t interpret much into it. I never really played that char as it’s only lvl12 and i could also simply switch it any time i want…

No, please. Don’t take it personally. I just tried to point out that Blood Elves are very popular on horde side, but I would be happy to se other races too. And if people need to choose if continue current char or start from lvl 1 and fall behind it may lead to better race diversity.

Race diversity doesn’t matter to me at all. People should be able to play their favorite race without getting penalized for it by being left behind at the start into tbc.
What about class diversity then? Is this less important to you than race diversity? ^^

Ofc class diversity is much more important because of gameplay. Race diversity is just for immerssion.

They won’t pre-release new content, which includes races.

On the other hand I play Aliance and I don’t think people will go crazy with Draneis same way as dorde do with Blood elfs. So in the end in will be not my problem. If I run to BG and fight against full Blood Elf paladin team, then so be it…

It matters for those who wants server first in PvE content.

Well, I don’t believe that there should be changes done just make people who wants world first happy.

There wont be any changes to implement Belf and Space Goats

Dranei and Belfs came with The Burning Crusade.
We were not able to play them in TBC Pre Patch, so we wont be able to play them now either.
It’s quite freaking simple as that.

Is there any other way to play Paladin on Horde side?
