TBC - Which server (friendly/casual/populated)

Dear all,

As most of you, I am hyped about TBC Classic, being the expansion on which I started to play the game. I haven’t experienced WoW Classic, so I have no knowledge about the status of the different realms. I have checked IronForge for the demographics, but I am fishing here for non-quantifiable information.

I am indifferent to the faction: I began a long time ago as a Horde player, and I rather play Alliance on retail. What I am looking for:

  • Nice community : non-toxic /2, helping fresh and low level players with bags and other small needs, …
  • Active leveling server : being able to reach out to equivalent level players to do quests and dungeons without spending 1 hour to find them
  • Active end-game server : for all types of contents, be it pvp or pve (casual-friendly, not aiming for competition)

So all-in-all, pretty standards informations on which I found topics dating from March 2020 only.

Thank you for your time !

Pyrewood Village is a great server and I always see people around

Heya!

The other day I logged into Gehennas Horde side and saw literally a plethora of level 1’s running around the Valley of Trials. Orgrimmar was packed to the brim as well. Lots of 60’s with end-game gear so that answers your question about end-game

Pretty sure there’s gonna be a lot of new levellers. I used to play there a while back and everyone was really nice. Lots of groups being formed for low level dungeons and quests.

Hope that helps!

@Damesombre: There is one fairly tricky problem with your request. As is, we ( = players) do not know how each individual realm will behave at TBCC launch. As in, how many move on, how many go to Classic era and how many clones there are and most importantly, how many returners and newcomers each realm receives. Almost everything one could say today about non-quantifiable things could be entirely wrong directly after TBCC launch.

Thanks ! I assume you’re talking about the Alliance.

Thanks ! I’ll check that out too

Sure, but I am not looking for hypothetical information on TBC release, but for actual impressions on the servers.
Then, if the server turns out to be completely different from what is being described, I won’t hold it against anyone but fate. Still, I want to ascend to level 60 now, not during TBC

Let me know if you decide to play there, I’ll likely start fresh as well  (my Bnet Resurge#21629)

Just incase this is for you. A group has been created to have a fresh start on a server in the coming weeks. We so far have over 560members waiting to reroll a server as either Alliance or Horde. If you are looking for a fresh journey this is the place for you. Join the discord:

Hey there!

I have to agree with Resurge about Gehennas, with an account on both the horde and alliance side I can confirm both factions are extremely populated with constant groups, lively chat and a high amount of guild recruitment (including a high amount recruiting for TBC).
To be fair and honest, as is common with most PVP servers… there are a small number of toxic players on either side but they are in the minority and us friendly folk far outweigh them!
Another perk I have seen on Gehennas since the TBC announcement… is a large increase in high-membered community-focused leveling guilds being created! Many of which are looking at building raid teams for TBC when they progress to that level  and if not, then there are plenty of other established guilds for you to explore!
With Gehennas the possibilities are endless! ;)… (disclosure…may be biased)

Whichever you choose good luck out there! :+1:

Mograine is also top 3 EU servers in classic.

Thanks ! I’ll hit you up if I come there

I joined the Discord yesterday, thanks for letting me know !

Thanks ! I’ll have to choose between alliance and horde side for Gehennas then

Alright, thanks for the info !

@Damesombre: Roger! And it seems you have already gotten several very useful replies. I based my answer on the assumption that you intended to start at TBCC launch, not in the much nearer future.

I have your answers.

  • You can find toxic players in all servers
  • High population servers are the best. Easier to find people to play with. I played in a medium population server and sometimes i felt like im alone in the game.
  • PvP server = world pvp / PvE server = no world pvp

Choose a high population server

Cool! Just today there were hundreds of low levels so yeah, good times! Also lots of levelling guilds starting up
