Let me tell you the story about swtor the unwise, an mmo game which had team ranked pvp where players were devided into two groups - dedicated pvp players who desired rating and queued as premade and “mat farmers”, those who queued just to get good rewards for weekly quest.
Ofcourse dedicated players easily smashed mat farmers and got free rating on them but mat farmers weren’t crying since all they cared about is finishing weekly.
Dedicated players had many advantages over poor farmers - voice comms, better setups, more pvp experience etc.
eventually, swtor devs had to stop this…why? Because as they noticed (and it was a reality) such system treated mat farmers (which were the majority) as a FODDER for dedicated players who smashed farmers for free rating, sometimes even dodging other dedicated players.
Wonder why i told you this story? Because current Blitz bg system is mostly the same. We have SOLO players and duo teams who are actually the SAME as dedicated players from my story. Duo teams have tonnes of advantages over SOLO players - voice comms, better setup, and experience. Due to this all solo players from blitz just became A FODDER and free rating for those who queue duo because duo teams have tonnes of advantages solo players don’t have.
So why don’t we make SOLO blitz truly SOLO since there are enough of game modes for those who want to play with friends in the same team (2s, 3s, random bgs, rated bgs, epic bgs etc.)
there are moment when i play with friends and i go modes which were created specially for that (rated bgs) but when i have no wish to make a group or my friends are offline, what shall i do? Ofc i go solo modes and i reasonably expect everyone there to be solo since it’s SOLO BLITZ. But we i see is those who queue together just farming others for easy making this game mode absolutely unlogical
I don’t get this at all. It’s a forum post. Why does a main need to be used to post? So people can hunt them down in game or something? I do not get it.
It’s not about an alt or main; I myself post on an alt. But, I don’t hide my ‘forum identity’ when I post. My opinions are all my own; no matter how much some people hate them.
It happens regularly now that players share some edgy, hateful or silly opinion on the forum behind the protection of an ‘anonymous’ alt. Just be honest about what you think and feel. There’s no need to hide; it’s fine if there’s people who disagree.
There’s people on the forum with whom I rarely see eye-to-eye, but them staying true to their opinions and beliefs and saying it on their regular characters is something I do respect.
The biggest issue with it though is that it’s hard to see who to take serious or who’s just doing it to troll, stir up something or get a bit of attention.
That makes sense. I post on Enluu cause for some reason the forums set the character to her, and I really don’t want to start over my rep farm to being able to post more stuff. It’s no secret that my main is Tinkari though.
I was just wondering cause this insistence on posting as a main just confused me.
sheesh, guys you discussing irrelevant things. The only reason i wrote on this char and not main is because when i logged forum on my laptop (instead of my PC which i use for the game) this char was already logged in as default instead of my main.
So now when we played blitz pretty enough and received experience allows to analyze the situation it becomes obvious that duo premades is just a big advantage for those who has friends among good healers while others are just a free elo for them and stucked between certain brackets. And it’s not only my experience - Blitz Rating system is broken
blitz rating system is bad and only those who queue duo are climbing up. Those who play SOLO (as it actually should be because it’s SOLO BLITZ) just stucked at their lower ratings and being farmed by duos
