I wouldn’t be surprised if next expansion Blizzard would just delete Alliance and be done with it. But keep going Blizzard this is entertaining to watch. My sub runs out in August and currently i doubt that i will resub anytime soon.

they are a great solution for the BG queue times…and trash for RP reasons, trash for faction balances reasons.

What frustration? Literally said it was testing and it probably comes back. Threatening with unsubscribing for what exactly.
It is hardly surprising how many Horde players do not even pretend to give a damn about the soul of this “faction based” game once it becomes inconvinient for them. They fail to see how this entire gig from Activision has already sealed the fate of their oh-so-beloved-game.
Try to imagine this was not about your precious Horde and you would be reading News about an MMO you don’t play yourself, instead. An MMO that starts out marketing itself as “faction based” and tries very hard to drum everybody up with “faction pride” and division fueling the “core narrative” of the game and even offering you “PvP Servers” to underline this very “feature”…and just a few weeks after launch it basically has to abandon the mechanic completely because it blows up in the developers faces.
Tell me what you would think about this MMO and its developers.
Q-times are the ONLY incentive in WoW to roll the minority faction. They are not “one of many” incentives. They are the ONLY ONE. Removing them this way means admitting that the “faction based” game has failed.
OK then. Factions don’t work. So what do they do about it?
Are they at leat TRYING to fix factions by offering UNLIMITED free transfers to the minority faction? No.
Are they converting all PvP Servers into PvE Servers to stop the players stuck there on the minority faction from being unable to play the overworld game? No. They can instead PAY their way out.
Are they removing the grouping barrier so people on the minority faction can find groups on their realm again? No. They can, again, PAY their way out.
Do they do ANYTHING that would help the minority faction at all in ANY way, shape or form? No.
They are just removing the ONE incentive this game offers to promote playing the minority faction.
In Classic, Alliance had ~1% win rate in AV because the map was unbalanced plus giving one faction instant-Q and letting the other one wait automatically leads to bots and AFKs on only ONE faction while the players on the other will be highly motivated to make the most out of the game they spent 30-60min waiting for. This situation was NOT caused by Alliance players. It could not be solved by Alliance players, either. It was caused by Horde players and Activision. Did Activision do ANYTHING to improve the situation? No, they did not. There are Alliance players who became exalted with Stormpike and never saw a single win in all of the games that took. But that was CLEARLY not an issue worth adressing. I mean…what could you do about it, right? And losing 99% of your games is clearly just the way the game was meant to be played (if you are Alliance).
But if the Horde has long Qs for a few weeks it is time to throw the fundamental faction idea of the entire game out of the window in a way that is SPECIFICALLY designed to not have even the most remote of benefits for the Alliance.
And some Horde players really don’t see the issue with it?
By the way, you should stop adressing Acitvision with your posts. Other players are the only ones reading this. Because, when it comes to the forums, we are all in the same faction: The EU (=Alliance) which is never considered by Acitivision. All they care about are the NA forums (=Horde). And there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Because the faction conflict hasn’t been relevant since vanilla, and most people just wanna play the game and couldn’t care less about a forced “conflict”.

Its actually irrelevant even if he is right. In this meta of min/maxing the game in everyway possible, a minimal difference is enough to min/max to it. As such even if it gives just a minimal advantage, they flood to it.

And this isnt happening… its not 90% horde on the servers. Alliance just dont care about world pvp and thats an issue. If alliance only stays in the major city then ofc the rest of the alliance that does is gonna get killed 5v1…
The really funny thing about this is Mr Orc Warlock, when I was creating my character I was so tempted to play an Orc Warlock. Why? having played TBC and classic the first time around I was a Warlock and the one class I had the most trouble against, Rogues. So for simply picking the green skin I immediately increase my odds when going up against the class I had the most trouble with as I have hardiness which inherently gives me a 25%(15%) chance to resist stuns, which Rogues rely on.
But in the end I decided I wanted to play Alliance to see the game from a different perspective so I chose Alliance to make it a little fresher. I also decided to try new classes instead of playing the same one I played before for the same reason.
This critism and the discussion is stupid.
We need as a community a solution for the queue times on Horde.
The critism of alliance arena players seems stupid.
i am a casual arena/pvp player. I just played arena with pve spec till now.
There are many players like me.
If we have long queue times, we - Pvp casuals - dont go in bgs and because of the missing pvp-res gear players like me will not play arena on a weekly base, when there is no small chance of winning just because of missing gear.
So every serious alliance arena player will have a more difficult time to get gladi or higher ratings because of a much smaller bracket.
Btw the serious horde arenaplayers had all the off set piece before last week.
If you critisize the same faction bg, you exclude the casual players from serious pvp.
Thats stupid for every arena player…
You have to reinstall same factions bgs permanently.

The talk about the racials is incoherent…
Everybody knew the racials at beginn of classic, and the alliance had a better time in pve at top tier pve.
Everybody knew the racials at beginn of tbc, and perhaps now the horde racials are better for arena. If there is no chance of gladi as an alliance player in season 1, blizzard has to fix something about the racials. But we should wait, if there is really an clear advantage for the horde in relation to the amount of horde-alliance participants.
Btw in real tbc back in the time the best arenateams of our server were alliance…

DON’T DESTROY ONE FACTION FOR OTHER. and srsly world PvP is dead by now I played about 50bgs on this system and I felt like I play private server with 300-400 pop wtf is that. FREE FACTION CHANGE FOR PVPERS AND PVERS STAY IN HORDE SIMPLE. DON’T BRING IT BACK!

So if you only play for the pvp, switching to an alliance toon shouldn’t be a problem and solves your queue issue, right?
Oh but then you’d have to face 50% more horde than alliance on a typical pvp server (and getting worse) and wouldn’t be in the dominant faction. But that wouldn’t matter because all you want is instant queues…
