Thanks, Blizzard, for completely ignoring the Soulseeker HC community. Your complete lack of response or clarification after hundreds of inquiries makes us lose faith in your capabilities as a professional company.
Why invest 100s of hours into something that can be ripped away by an incompetent company, while at the same time not even getting a response. Our guild is in the process of disbanding because we lost a bunch of core raiders, and our GM, during the last wave of disconnects. Your ability to completely ignore the community lead to our members canceling their subscriptions, because you cannot be trusted. A period of several days of unstable servers, and not even a tweet about it. People pay money to subtractive to your services, and you spent time developing these servers. Donât you have anyone on your payroll that cares about both the product and community?
What is particularly frustrating is the utter inconsistency of Blizzardâs actions. Why did they perform a character restoration during the DDoS attack in March, but not during the one in June? Similarly, the decision to restore characters after the July 29th or 30th attack, while it seems they wonât do the same for the August 1st one, is completely incomprehensible. This difference in treatment for identical causes is unacceptable.
In Hardcore mode, itâs not enough to rely on your own skill; you also have to pray for server stability AND hope that, in the event of a failure, Blizzard is in a âgood moodâ and willing to restore your lost characters. This situation adds a layer of frustration and randomness that is completely beyond the playerâs control.
The server issues after the confirmed July 29th DDoS might not be due to DDoS. However, itâs impossible to know because Blizzard counterspelled themselves.
Yeah I think Iâm out from Hardcore now. Blizzards lack of response and inability to respond makes the whole thing pointless. No point in levelling to die by something that isnât your fault. So Iâm out. Iâm sure there are 100s of others thinking the same thing!
Itâs crazy how blizzard can outright ignore a whole community. This is blatant negligence towards their subscribers. And theyâre getting away with it, too. I would be embarrassed to work for a company with these ethics
100s of players is not «small». Blizzard released the HC servers to appeal to a part of their community. They hooked them into it and now they show that they donât care about that community. It would take no effort to at least release a statement towards the several DAYS of sever issues. That way the community would know where the issue arose. Was it DDoS? Was it something to do with ISP to the hundreds of people who got affected? Remember, not everyone affected died to it, so there maybe be a lot more than a couple hundred of players, too. Letâs sayâs âonlyâ 100 people were affected. Itâs still 15 000 usd / month in subscription fees. If you pay for a service, you should expect to hear from the provider if that service is interrupted. If I was watching Netflix, and suddenly everything was lagging several days in a row, I would expect Netflix to release a statement on it, explaining what the problem was and how they are fixing it. If not, why should we pay for the service?
I am not defending them. Their reputetion is already at the bottom and the metter of mud. Your understanding is right considering the service wa interrupted for millions of players. As you can see players still play the game despite having problems, moreover these estimated 100 deaths is only 1,5k in monthly subscription fees not 15k. and still I can guarantee thst 50% of people that died still play.
Yes, it should have been addressed and we expect a minimum amount of respext. But this is how it is, Blizzard is a calculating company right now when human being and his time is being translated into money.
My hope is very small if any tha our deaths due to ddos will be addressed at that point. It has been 4 days already. Sad but true.
I am also a bit baffled by the complete silence over the massive amount of posts. No communication what so ever, after days of severe issues. Rollback the first day, but no news for victims the next days.
Yup - really enjoyed levelling as duo with my brother until DDoS claimed the lives of two of our Characters on Soulseeker. We lost all faith in Blizzard then and decided to cancel our subscriptions.
Ridiculous the amount of people Iâve seen who have experienced something similar with not even an acknowledgement from Blizzard, itâs just beyond belief. Itâs at the point now where even if a character is restored, you feel itâs a complete waste of time to reinvest your time as another attack might be down the road. I get that in itself is a hard problem for any company to contend with, but what is in their control is how they respond to protect paying customers. As already mentioned above it is appalling and I would not recommend âModern Blizzardâ to anyone. Such a shame to be a shadow of itâs former self.
When your character dies, the game ends for you. If you choose to create and play a hardcore character, you do so at your own risk: we will not restore any deceased hardcore characters for any reason including connection problems, bugs, global warming, your little sister, or any other reason whatsoever.
Sorry blizzard is just bad dont want to support them. Dont care anymore. I just wanted to play HC nothing more. Its really low bar even for me, but I cant. So I dont care like blizzard.
