Thanks Blizzard once again, uncaringly and without thinking it through whats the effect, you did drastic changes to an extend that you cause frustration and bad feeling playing the game.
1.) You had months to update the UI related Lua code, and addon owners now nicely updated their addons. And then this week you dropped another bomb change, 2 weeks prior the War Within, now all addon owner need to fix their already up to date version 11 addons that is completely broken now. This should not happen in the last two weeks of the expansion, prior the start of the new expansion EVER.
2.) You Reduced the gold reward to a level that you usually do when an expansion is outdated and people just level through it, not playing it currently. You made gold rewards irrelevant in Dragonflight World Quests AND most importantly Weekly quests, Instead of 600-1000Gold you give us 100G for Weekly missions… like if Dragonflight would be done, finished. Well it isn’t and I/we still grinding it.
It is again clear that your intent was not player friendly… Both of the above change should have been more carefully implemented and planned.
Be glad it’s more than a week early instead of the day of release like it was in the past. This is a big upgrade.
Wrong, this is the perfect moment because it gives devs the time to fix it before the expansion is released. I can actually play when it’s released instead of scrambling to fix my addons.
The only issue here is that the 11.0.2 beta patch seems to have had the deprecation layer enabled by default instead of disabled, most addon devs didn’t know they had to turn this off to discover breaking changes.
That said, 99% of the changes that now break stuff have been changed in patches ranging from 10.0.0 and 11.0.0. It’s not like it was impossible to fix these issues before, and most big addons have already fixed this, think DBM/BW/Details/Plater/WA/ElvUI etc.
Boohoo, you get 1.5 week of less gold reward, maybe you should’ve farmed gold before this patch. It’s not like 2~3k gold is going to make a difference.
U are really something u say blizzard is not player friendly? Warbands is the pinnacle of being player friendly. Also the delves is casual friendly what do people want more.
As you point out, introducing significant new features, specs, UI or similar can (as you put it) ruin you gaming experience fora short time until players get used to it.
Would you rather have this happen:
A> Last week of an expansion when everthing is done and dusted.
B> First week of a new expansion when everyone wants to get out and explore new zones and complete new stories.
Broken addons due to change in code over a week before the launch, rather than AT launch is a very good thing. That gives developers plenty of time to update and/or players to adjust playing without them/replacing them with working ones.
The last patch made me say bye-bye to Bagnon which I’ve used since TBC (or even before that?) and replace it with Baganator for example.
Now I may finally be looking for something to replace CT Buffmod too.
Please that went out the window with tokens and garrisons… maybe you weren’t here when trade used to be for trade not gold sellers… There is no economy lol…
after the brutal changes to the concentration requirements (you need now spend like 165 of 1000 concentration to fix missing 3 of 350 skill points), even the few crafts that were worth making are ruined.I’m not going to log into the game to make 2 enchants and 2 bolts of cloth. There’s no point in logging into wow until the TWW.
1.) Big version change that breaks addons so drastically that they stop working should been done with the prepatch, 11.0 In fact thats why we got beta. This isn’t beta my friend its already released prepatch. These changes should have been already happened and planned. You don’t know devops, processes, I do, believe me when I say this it can be managed less painfully.
2.) Please don’t tell me when to farm gold m’kay? There is no bohoo, like you’re a little kid talking to another kid in the kindergarden. It is an uncalled change, such gold nerfs expected, but not on the ongoing end-game content. This is still the current running end game content. If you don’t get it that I don’t have to play for two weeks then, due to this change then it’s your problem not understanding lifecycles of the expansion and how they cut it off for me and as you see above comment, others feel exactly the same. In fact they won’t even go out and farm for their m+, if they are out of gold, hardcore players just going to say this is stupid and stop playing like many many times before. Again, this shouldn’t have happened, the easy fix is to move the loot “rate” with the latest expansion… which is still Dragonflight.
But who am I explaining patiently, you don’t care you came to troll… This post is not for you its for Development, whenever ifever they get the info, I don’t get my hopes up though…
They even managed to break their own addon code. I had so many LUA errors last night while running through Exile’s Reach after I enabled edit mode (all other addons were disabled) . There were even moments when I had to click buttons to fight mobs as all my keybinds stopped working.
You are aware that we are still in prepatch right? I gotta say Blizz actually handled this one alot better then they use to. They gave ample warning changes were coming and when.
Actually, kindergarten bohoo is exactly what it sounds like.
Like you said, this change was expected as it happens with every new expac, and like someone already said, it’s not like you have had time to farm your gold during the entire expansion. Don’t blame blizzard for your mistake. (and no, I’m most certainly not one to defend blizzard usually.)
Ok no prepatch I ment when you bring in the new features with the big version change and test it. So it should be on PTR currently, not on live. Prior, 11.0 was in alph, beta then rc, and ptr. This weeks update is eithe a last minute call “bigger” change, if yes, then it should have been tested first and communicated on ptr. But I start to think its a bug. LOL
Non-developer players, non IT players please read:
Development phases exists! You don’t have to break your live game in order to introduce new features! Most of the addon developers do care, and release updates as soon as they get info about them changes on PTR and beta. So please pretty please stop trying to tell me its normal to break a code on live server with an update for god sakes. Watch some tiktoks about development, devops, then you will understand what I’m talking about.
I beg to differ. Warbands only apply to items that are “Warbound Until Equipped”. Soulbound items can’t be placed in the warbank, meaning you’ll still need to grind for that item or play on a specific class, hoping it drops on that character - though it usually doesn’t.
Cross-realm item trading is still disabled, and there’s been no update on whether this issue has been resolved.
Currency transfers were disabled yesterday, with no indication of when they will be fixed. Even before the suspension, not all currencies were transferable. For instance, Flightstones, Crests, and Dragon Isles Supplies weren’t warbound transferable before the suspension. It seems that none of the Dragonflight currencies were transferable, and even currencies from older expansions like Warlords of Draenor weren’t included.
As for pre-patch gear from vendors, you have to purchase it on each alt individually rather than buying it on one character and placing it in the warband bank. With currency transfers currently disabled, this means farming Residual Memories on every alt, which isn’t very alt-friendly, despite the expansion’s theme.
While Dragonflight and The War Within reputations are or will be warbound, what about legacy or past expansion reputations? All reputations should have been made warbound.
And regarding Delves, how can you discuss the Delves system when we’ve only seen a video clip and received some information? You can’t fully evaluate something you haven’t experienced yet - it’s like reviewing an item before it even arrives. The same principle applies to Delves.
Havent experienced yet… ever heard of something called a Beta?
Why would u want lets say a reputation from shadowlands be accound wide?
Ow they will never let u send Flightstones, crests to an Alt honestly i dont see a point in it either or ure main is fully geared and u dont need flightsones, or crests anymore. But as a company i wouldnt do it either people need to realise not everything can be for free.
Honestly should never be enabled either again why would u.
And yes some armor is warbound and some are not for a good reason immo. I can already see it i never play mage and he is fully geared mythic nono.
I knew you were going to say that. Beta is meant for testing, and it’s not a finished product, so bugs are expected. Why would anyone want to do Delves content in Beta when everything is wiped at the end of testing, and you have to start from scratch on the official servers? Don’t tell me it’s just for giving feedback - I’ve participated in betas before, provided feedback, and nothing changed. Plus, not everyone even has access to the Beta. So no, it doesn’t count.
Don’t get me wrong - I really like the concept of the Delves system. From what I’ve read, it seems promising, especially since I can tackle it solo rather than with others. I prefer doing content on my own, at my own pace, without any commitments.
Have you ever heard of quartermaster vendors where you can buy various profession recipes? Why should you have to grind reputation on multiple characters to get those recipes when you could just grind it on one? It doesn’t make sense to grind the same reputation over and over - it’s just frustrating.
I have several reputations at Exalted from the TBC expansion, and many vendors offer recipes for professions that my character with the reputation can’t use, but my other characters could learn and benefit from.
What if you don’t need them and they’re just piling up because one of your characters is already fully geared? Instead of letting them stack up, you could send them to another character to gear up your alt. By the way, if you hadn’t noticed, there was a recent post on WoWhead covering this topic.
Everything is moving towards cross-realm, including guilds. That’s the direction things are heading, but ultimately, it comes down to personal preference.
I wasn’t talking about Mythic gear, but rather about farming transmog gear from older dungeons and raids. I spend more time running old dungeons than I do current content. However, I’m really happy that they’re going to implement what’s mentioned in the article below in Patch 11.0.5. It’s a shame I lost countless hours farming Tier 1 and Tier 2 sets on all my characters to get the sets for every class. Especially when you’re just missing one piece!
This is exactly when it should happen, right before the expansion launches. 2 weeks is plenty of time to sort your UI and if it happened any earlier all that would of changed was you would of posted your rant earlier about it being too early.
But dragonflight is done. Don’t mistake content being available with content being current. We’re in TWW prepatch not DF afterpatch.
