Hello there,
I can’t decide on what class/race to go solo that can make life easy.
And when i say this i refer a class that can do damage and a little bit self heal.
What is your opinion?
Please dont be harsh,ofc i searched/read the forums,but i wanted your opinions.
And since the buff is active what you guys started?

I liked the idea of a Warlock for solo. Destro is powerful with a small bit of self healing.
I am leveling a 4th Priest (Don’t judge me), because I want all 4 elf races as a Priest.

BM hunter with a spirit beast for heals and dispels. Make a draenei for a little self heal. Easy going, you can dps on the move, trap, kite easily. I do a lot of soloing, have played all classes and specs to some extent and that is my choise. Nowadays viable in raids as well.

every class nowadays has some sort of self heal. at least i cant think of a class that doesnt right now off the top of my head.
race matters little in my opinion so i d suggest you go with what you like best. 
Ret Pally is good for all open-world solo stuff in my opinion.
I’ve gone the other way and am levelling my first hunter!

Necromancer is best for soloing
Use your skeletons as tanks/dps and you can heal yourself

Mage - at least not frost mage that I play. Evocation had a small heal for some time, but it’s been removed from the frost tree.

true, havent played mage in ages really. but you can get a trait that heals when you blink later or something? oh dang thought evocation still healed, oh well then yeah, mage is off the list then lol.

I have found DK to be the best over all expansions I have played.
Warlock/Hunter/Paladin/Guardian also very good, I say DK primarily because you can change spec if you need extra dps, still pretty tanky with heals built in and I have never had a problem soloing anything with them.
Particularly farming older raids, sometimes if you had a pet or something out it would trigger mechanics like it would if there was multiple people in the raid sometimes causing resets if dps is lacking, I gather blizzard have tweaked things to make it more soloable now but thought I’d throw that in anyway.
Also DH, I’m sure it ranks up there with built in heals and nice Aoe damage, the speed is nice if you are running older raids/dungeons and the like, guess that adds to efficiency.
There are heals from essences, traits etc, but I wasn’t including those, just the regular spells. If you include those, all classes ans specs have heals so we are both right.
DK specs can compare to furry warrior for example?

Best solo class for open world or old content is by far wlock and bm hunter,after that its one of the tanks,probably a blood dk.
This question wins the thread, AFAIAC.
There are three distinct cases people call soloing:

Soloing dungeons, big Rare-Elites, even world bosses and raid bosses. For those you need a tank with excellent sustain.

Solo playing in the world. Mostly standard mobs, some elites, the occasional rare or rare-elite. There are two ways to go on this:
a) Something with a tank spec, even if you don’t stay in the tank spec except where necessary. Demon Hunter would be my current #1 - It’s just so smooth and pleasant and easy to play.
b) A pet class, using the pet to tank for you when needed. Beastmaster Hunter or Warlock work well. -
Soloing old content. Survivability is not an issue here; everything dies of fright when it sees you coming. It’s about tearing through as quickly and comfortably as you can. You want something with continuous, automatic AoE, and decent speed. Arcane Mage is my personal favourite.
But none of that matters unless it’s a class you ENJOY PLAYING!
I honestly enjoy playing my lock for just soloing content, right now I’m mainly playing demonology which I find very rewarding controlling a bunch of minions to my will, they offer the ability to easy solo content while enjoying yourself thoroughly, swell as having some very cool transom sets.
What tank has excellent sustain mate?
I would yield to people who are actually tanking this expansion, but my impression is that Blood DK and Prot Paladin would be your contenders. Maybe Vengeance DH?
All are very self-contained for healing. All have very viable DPS specs for when you don’t need the sturdiness. Paladin has the edge on doing damage in tank spec. DH beats the others hands-down on mobility. Blood can do more self-healing than many healers.
