I thought this was just me. All I’m getting is anima (for which I’m capped) and the odd bit of gear that’s usually something I already have equipped. It’s going to be a long journey to 6.
As to why I want Tier 6, firstly I collect exalted reps and, secondly, the higher level gear would help me with soloing old raids that Blizz decided to make stupidly hard in some cases and soloing higher levels in Torghast. I’m finding layer 10 quite hard at the moment.
What are these?
I’ve not really engaged thoroughly in Korthia. I do some dailies and kill rares or open chests if I happen to be near them whilst doing those dailies. I really only do the dailies to fill in the bar for Shaping Fate.
I haven’t gone through any rifts, just rares in there?
Too many esoteric systems, currencies and grinds, all of which won’t amount to a hill of beans before being obselete in the next patch.
Not minding it so much on my main but I can’t imagine doing this journey (Korthia) on any of my alts (when I ever get one to 60).

They keep repeatedly pumping out the same laborious drivel, yet I keep slurping it up like an obedient mind slave. I think I may need psychiatric help.
I’ve given up on my alts for now. I’m on Rank 5 on my main but I think the amount to get to 6 is a lot more than earlier ranks.
I’m only rank 3 and 8000/12000 rep for Death’s Advance. I’m not crunching it. Which is fine for my main, it’ll get there eventually. But the notion of doing this again is just too terrify to contemplate. But I have no alts at 60 so I don’t need to contemplate it.
The most importnt rewards are available account-wide. The conduit upgrades and gem-slot-tokens can be bought on alts as long as you have 1 character that is exalted / tier 6.
For people who are stuck with the 220 pieces from Korthia (on alts for example like me) it does suck bad. I’ve ran 20 keys from 12-15 and gotten 2 loots excluding the vault. It sucks when you don’t get any gear doing content. So rank 5 should make you upgrade to 226 at least, if not all the way to 233.
I’m certainly not going through the pains of reaching rank 6 on my priest. Getting there on my mage was painful enough and i think i’ll take a short break from Korthia related stuff now.
Because World of Grindcraft?
Well, I need that reputation for sockets and conduits upgrades.
It would have been better if those things were moved at tier 4.
EDIT : Would have been better if the game had baseline sockets and no conduits.

Tier 5 = useless
Tier 6 = conduits upgrades and sockets. Sockets good. Conduits upgrades op.
It’s 16000 rep for rank 6.
It wouldn’t be too bad if rank 5 gave stuff but as it stands from 4 to 6 it’s a total of 27000 rep to get another “reward” as it were.
The fun part is the rng of relic drops and daily quests, one day you’ll have two dailies rewarding purple relics and a few treasures will drop purple relics, the next you’ll clear the entire zone and get half the amount of purple relics because…reasons?
It’s not even about being fast, it’s designed to be a chore and it feels like one, worse it feels mandatory.
And even if it was about being fast, the patch has been out for a while now, it’s not unreasonable to expect to have maxed out reps by now.

Finally hit 6 on my main today, I didn’t farm it hard or anything but today not a single quest gave any tier rep rewards which meant I had to go do a clear of rares and treasures and pray for good tier rep drops.
I’ve never known a rep grind be so RNG.
Remember that 9.1 is (or at least was at launch) supposed to be 6 months of content. As Archivist gear is causal PvE gear it is there to keep casuals incentivised to stay subbed.
Which would be fine if both of the upgrades weren’t locked behind rank 6 instead of one being at r5 and the next at r6, which makes much more sense in terms of progression. Then there’s the issue of it being locked behind an absurd amount of renown as well solely for the purpose of prolonging it.
My guess is they changed something late in the development process to delay casual gear progression, but it was too late to properly re-code the Archivist rep. I remember in 9.0 there were complaints (I made some of them) that casual players like me capped out their ilvl too quickly and we had months with no possible gear progression, unlike BfA which had ways of progressing gear for much longer into a patch. Maybe T5 was supposed to be last tier of rep and would unlock R6 of gear.
